1.Introduction

Teacher Appraisal: teacher appraisal is a process that assesses and measures the
effectiveness of educators through methods like observations, student performance
data and feedback, aiming to support professional development and enhance
overall teaching quality.
The Teacher Appraisal System aims to provide a comprehensive and efficient
framework for evaluating and assessing the performance of educators of our MCA
department. This system is designed to streamline the appraisal process, ensuring
fairness, transparency, and accuracy in assessing teachers' contributions to the
academic environment.

2.Problem Statement

Working Of Existing System

In the current teacher appraisal system, teachers complete their self-appraisal
forms on paper, assigning themselves a numerical rating within a predetermined
range. The Higher Authority then reviews the self-assessment scores provided
by teachers. Due to the confidential nature of the appraisal forms, the HOD
independently enters the data into an Excel sheet.
Need Of New System
The need for a new Teacher Appraisal System arises from the limitations of the
existing manual processes. An automated and systematic approach is essential
to speed up processes and make data analysis easier.
3.Objective

The Objectives are:

 To Make sure evaluations are fair and accurate with clear rules.
 To Give feedback quickly to help teachers get better at their jobs.
 To Make it easy to understand how well teachers are doing year wise.
 To visualize their performance with several graphs.

4.Scope

The scope of the project includes the activities and functions within our MCA
department.

seamlessly with the system, ensuring ease of navigation and data exploration.

c) Non-Functional Requirements

1. Usability: The platform should have an intuitive and user-friendly interface

to ensure a positive user experience.
2. Performance: The platform should be able to handle multiple simultaneous
users and perform efficiently, ensuring quick response times for search
queries and page loading.
3. Security: The platform should implement robust security measures to
protect user data and sensitive information.
4. Scalability: The platform should be designed to accommodate future growth
and handle increased user traffic without compromising performance.
5. Reliability: The platform should be highly reliable, ensuring minimal
downtime and providing a seamless experience for users.
6. Compatibility: The platform should be compatible with various web
browsers and mobile devices to ensure accessibility for a wide range of
users.
7. Accessibility: The platform should adhere to accessibility standards, making
it accessible to users with disabilities.

d) Modules
1. User Management Module
2. Appraisal Process Module
3. Teacher Data Management Module

6.Technical Requirements

a) Front-end Development:
▪ HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript for creating the website's front-end
interface.
▪ Bootstrap framework for Responsive web design to ensure optimal user
experience across different devices and screen sizes.

b) Back-end Development:

▪A server-side programming language python (Django) to handle server-side

logic.
▪ Django’s Object Relational Model (ORM) for database management

7.Expected Outcome
The Teacher Appraisal System is expected to make things easier by simplifying the steps,
cutting down mistakes made by hand, ensuring fair and accurate evaluations, and offering
better chances for teachers to grow professionally. It will also provide quick data analysis to
help decision-makers gain important insights.

8.Conclusion
In conclusion, the new Teacher Appraisal System fixes the problems with how
things are currently done by using a manual method. This should make things work
better, be fairer, and clear, making teachers' evaluations improved. Overall, it's
meant to make the learning environment better.
