investigating are chemical and biological
hazards. Sungai Pantai river has a lot
of fungi, parasites, bacteria, and
chemicals. The river's colour is a bit
yellow. There is no offensive smell.
Impurities include chemical, plastic
watste, household junks etc.

The main cause of
contamination would be the
residences and industries
nearby. Sungai Pantai is
located near Kerinchi Pylon
and Menara Telkom. There is
a main road just beside the
river and cars pass by the
river.

The source of the contamination are
the houses and industries nearby.
People throw a lot of garbage into the
water.

Risks
Water pollution is the reason of thousands of diseases
affecting people. The biodiversity in the river is
affected by the pollution. Polluted river water is
detrimental to the health of the animals that drink
water from the river. Diarrhea, skin diseases, etc are
contracted by the drinking of polluted water.
