ARCHITECTURAL INTERNSHIP 1
GISELLE F. BAUTISTA
I. INTRODUCTION
It is a privilege to be part of Juric Engineering Services, a firm the specializes in Sewage Treatment
Plant projects, even in a short span of time. This company is headed by Arch. Arnold G. Caballes and Engr.
Ricky Paul Tomines, both experts in their own field. Not all students had the opportunity like this, therefore
I am more than grateful. They taught me how the real world works and how we can solve problems that we
might encounter in the future. Aside from that, we were also given office work like drafting services, 3D
modeling and design visualization.
IV.ACCOMPLISHMENTS
During our internship I was tasked to lead the conceptualization of Tarlac Project: a mixed used 8
hectares lot. My Creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving skills were challenged. But throughout
Conceptualizing the said project, we were praised by our principal architect for our concept board and the
My drafting and 3D modeling skills improved as well. During the first week of our internship my
lack of 3D modeling hindered me from completing the assigned task on time. But today I can say that my
skills improved a lot.
V. SKILLS LEARNED
In this internship program, I have acquired essential skills that can be used in the architectural
industry. From my Computer Aided Design drafting which improved a lot up to 3D modeling which I lack
Knowledge of from the beginning oof our internship. I also learned how real world works, specifically how
to handle a project and how to talk to clients. I have also learned how to construct the projects during our
site visits with the supervision of our principal architect, Arch. Arnold Caballes.
VII. CONCLUSION
Our Journey as a Junior architect starts with our first internship. All the lessons that I learned were
essential for my development as an architecture student and a future architect as well. My skills improved in
drafting, 3D modeling, and practices required in architecture. Through the internship I was able to learn
lessons that was never taught in schools before. The experience that we had mold us to be a better student,
full of knowledge, equipped with resources and erudition. Even so, we know that we are just in the
beginning of a lifelong learning to become what we wanted to be, an Architect.
VIII. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I sincerely appreciate all the people behind our internship program. To our adviser Arch. Riza Rizalina
A. Quincina who never give up on us despite the difficulty we all went through, and to the Juric Engineering
Services family especially to Arch. Arnold G. Caballes for the guidance, support, and knowledge he gave us.
Their dedication and eagerness to teach us inspired me to be a victorious architect someday.
