BACKGRO • Compared to men, women are significantly underrepresented

• To gain a deeper understanding of their experiences,


challenges, and opportunities within these environments, PURPOSE

It has been percieved that women encountered various
challenges in male-dominated fields, including gender
RATIONAL discrimination, disparities in oppurtunities for progress, and

This study aims to explore the lives of women in the fields
that are traditionally male dominated.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions:

SCOPE OF THE STUDY
Participants: The researchers limited the study to four (4) female professionals,
one (1) in the police and three (3) in engineering industries.

Sampling Technique: Purposive Sampling

Research Design: Phenomenological Approach

Data Gathering Analysis: Clarke and Braun Thematic Analysis

Locale: The study was conducted within Bacolod City, Negros Occidental,
Philippines only.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENT

The researchers developed open-ended questions which


included basic information, their experiences, challenges, coping
mechanisms and how do they assess themselves as a woman in men
dominated field.

CONCLUSI ON
The following are the conclusions based on the findings of the study:

On the Statement of the Problem (SOP) 1, working in man's work is not easy. Women have a very tough time building
relationships and partnerships in industries where men prevail.

On the Statement of the Problem (SOP) 2, It is evident that women face various struggles in the men-dominated field
including limited prospects for promotion and leadership roles, as well as gender bias and discrimination.

dominated fields to work harder as a way to cope with the difficulty that comes along with it. Their passion is a result of
their intense commitment to their work or place of employment, as well as their personal investment in and motivation by
its mission.

workplace. Work becomes more than just a career; it becomes a passion that women wholeheartedly embrace.
