Construction industry has prevailed in Malaysia for a
number of decades

Patriarchal dominant industry but the table has turned


over when this field is opened to females

Due to the perceived nature of work and the common


notion that it is a large male-dominated industry, the
construction industry has inherent gender biases.

The study seeks to describe the broad gender gap in the


fields of employment, skill development, upward
mobility, and the study aims to describe the substantial
gender disparity that besets these areas.
PROBLEM STATEMENT

Produce 64,782 graduates since 1967 (Abdullah, 2021).

More males than females are working in the construction


industry

Women encounter hidden obstacles or glass ceilings,


and are not afforded the same opportunity for job
growth as men.

Practical obstacles for women who leave their careers to raise families

Many women had to determine whether to have children or not, as well as how to balance this with their ambitions for their
careers
OBJECTIVES

To determine FSPU student’s awareness about gender


matter in the construction industry.

To determine the student’s qualities/abilities associated


with women and men at UITM Shah Alam.

To identify the barriers to create gender diversity in the


construction industry among FSPU students.

Focus on UiTM Shah Alam undergraduate students
of the Faculty of Built Environment
20 years old and above.

Data Collection Procedure

Questionnaire will be produced by Google Form
Questionnaires Handed out to the students through Whatsapp
It will be spreaded through online platforms to Messenger
further facilitate the process.
