Dear Sir/Madam,
Re: Request to Unblock Passport Following Overstay in South Africa- PP number -AK03044770
I am writing to request that my passport be unblocked, allowing me to once again travel to and from
South Africa. I acknowledge that I overstayed my visa during my last visit to South Africa in the year
2019. My overstay was due to unforeseen circumstances involving medical treatment which led to a loss
of track of time due to my illness and medication.
Upon realizing that my visa had expired, I promptly requested an extension. However, the impending
expiration of my flight ticket prevented me from securing an extension in time. As a result, I made the
regrettable decision to leave South Africa without permission, leading to the blockage of my passport
from future travel to the country.
I have since attempted to return to South Africa but was denied to board the Air Plane out of Nairobi
due to my passport's blocked status. I deeply regret my actions and fully understand the consequences
of my overstay. I humbly request that you reconsider my situation and unblock my passport, allowing
me to travel to South Africa for a brief period of one or two weeks. I assure you of my commitment to
returning to Kenya upon completion of my visit.
Thank you for considering my request. I appreciate your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
