I am firmly against whaling because it's just not right.
People might argue that it is part of their
tradition or history, but when you really think about it, hunting whales is cruel. These magnificent creatures are incredibly smart and have complex social lives, similar to humans. So, hunting whales for profit or tradition feels like betraying their trust. Not only that, but whaling messes up the entire ocean ecosystem. Whales play a vital role in keeping the oceans healthy by maintaining the balance of marine life. If we keep hunting them, it could cause a domino effect of problems for other sea creatures and even for humans. However, the good news is that we have alternatives to whaling now. With advancements in technology, there are plenty of other ways for communities to make money and find food sustainably. For example, we can take eco- tourism instead of killing whales. Communities can make a living by showing these majestic creatures to tourists who are eager to witness whales in their natural habitat. We should protect the whales and still support the livelihoods of people who depend on killing whales to earn money. While it's a complex issue, I believe that saving whales should be our priority, rather than continuing the outdated practice of whaling.
