Students will learn how to give specific directions using the cardinal points instead of the terms left and right. Students will be able to follow directions given using the cardinal points. From where does the sun rise? Which country is located on the right side of Pakistan? Which country is located on the left side of Pakistan? After that teacher will announce the topic that today we will learn about “ Cardinal Directions” Explanation: (Based on Cross-Curricular Links): First of all teacher will tell a tricky as well as funny way to remember cardinal direction, She will help students remember the clockwise order of the directions on a compass with the phrase “Never Eat Soggy Waffles.” Then Teacher will explain with the help of flashcards and video that cardinal directions are one set of directions that people around the world use. The four cardinal directions are north, south, east and west. These directions use the rising and setting of the sun as reference points. Because the Earth rotates from west to east, the sun appears to rise in the east and set in the west. Activity: Teacher will ask students to take a white sheet and then draw a cardinal direction map and mention the names of all directions. After that teacher will ask them to think for some time that which areas are located in east, west, north and south of their school building and then write the name of things which are present in all four directions around their school building. Wrap-up: read the relevant text from the book. C.W: Teacher will ask students to do part no 4 & 5 of detailed questions on notebook from page 92. H.W: Do a diagram of boy showing all cardinal directions and color the picture. AFL: during wrap up: Using the globe and first identifying Pakistan, then identifying cardinal directions, then identify countries in all directions, Tell the name of Neighbour countries which are present in north, south, east and west of Pakistan?
