Teacher will ask some questions:
Where does the SUN set?
From where does the sun rise?
Which country is located on the right side of Pakistan?
Which country is located on the left side of Pakistan?
After that teacher will announce the topic that today we will learn about
“ Cardinal Directions”
Explanation: (Based on Cross-Curricular Links):
First of all teacher will tell a tricky as well as funny way to remember cardinal direction, She will
help students remember the clockwise order of the directions on a compass with the phrase
“Never Eat Soggy Waffles.”
Then Teacher will explain with the help of flashcards and video that cardinal directions are one
set of directions that people around the world use. The four cardinal directions are north,
south, east and west. These directions use the rising and setting of the sun as reference
points. Because the Earth rotates from west to east, the sun appears to rise in the east and set
in the west.
Activity: Teacher will ask students to take a white sheet and then draw a cardinal direction
map and mention the names of all directions. After that teacher will ask them to think for some
time that which areas are located in east, west, north and south of their school building and
then write the name of things which are present in all four directions around their school
building.
Wrap-up: read the relevant text from the book.
C.W: Teacher will ask students to do part no 4 & 5 of detailed questions on notebook from
page 92.
