HOW THE PHILOSOPHY OF PLATO, SOCRATES AND ARISTOTLE AFFECTS

YOUR HUMAN PERSON?

Philosophy of these 3 known persons has a great contribution to the modern

days especially to the morality and being a virtuous. There philosophy of human
person has a different and some are the same study regarding human person like
Socrates, He thought that persons had an inherent spirit that continues on after their
bodies die. He thought that because the soul is immortal, it has learnt many things
during its existence, which it brings with it to the bodies it inhabits. While Plato
has a different study in human person, according to Plato, Man reflects the nature
of the state in which he lives. To comprehend a person, one must analyze the
culture in which he lives. The state is not an entity that people create out of their
own free choice, but rather an organism, a whole. And lastly was Aristotle, He
believes that the ultimate purpose and goal of existence is to obtain eudaimonia
('happiness'). He believed eudaimonia was more than only virtue or pleasure, but
rather the practice of virtue. Moreover, these 3 great philosophers have similarity
in terms of there study in which they believe that human or man is the happiest
animal living in the state and that man are not self – sufficient. Additional in their
study that “They also believed that all men wanted to live the truly good life where
they could be in tune with the truth and achieve their ultimate goals.” 1
In my personal and same manner as how these 3 philosophers contemplate
their works, I also had the hard times in understanding their studies, on why and
what are the circumstances on how they derive from this specific study. Despite of
this and on the differences and some similarity of there study about human life or
the human person, I could say that these great philosophers such as Socrates, Plato,
and Aristotle established basic concepts that continue to affect our and my view of
the world today. These remarkable thinkers began to employ logic and reason to try
to understand the workings of the universe. They also investigated the complexities
of human morality. In additional, regarding to the article that I read, these 3
influential philosophers contributed not only to the human morality but also the
justice system and other specification that is need to our day to day lives, such as
the development of political ideas, inventions, and legacies.
