• Lithium batteries with the intelligent hybrid use feature work in intelligent self-management
hybrid use mode by default.
• The intelligent lithium battery is activated by voltage from the power system busbar or by
pressing the MANUAL ON/OFF button. After startup, the output voltage of the intelligent
lithium battery is 43.8 V.
• After the battery is activated, if the battery detects that the busbar voltage is greater than or
equal to 53 V for 5 minutes, it will enter the normal operating state.
• If an AC power failure occurs within 5 minutes after the battery is activated, the output
voltage of the battery is 43.8 V.

maintenance tool to switch to the battery feature mode.
• If the battery communicates with a Huawei power system, the battery works in the
scheduling management mode of the Huawei power system.

1. If the power system parameter settings meet the requirements of intelligent hybrid use

2. If the BLVD threshold of the power system is greater than 43.8 V, the remaining 10%
capacity of the intelligent lithium battery cannot be used for primary load power backup. In
this case, the primary load backup power is provided by common lithium batteries onsite.
3. If the system charge current limit coefficient is set to a small value, the intelligent lithium

Intelligent

1. In the intelligent lithium battery constant-voltage backup scenario, set the power system
parameters to the recommended values.
2. The charge current limit coefficient of the power system must be greater than 0.15C. This
ensures that the system does not limit the current during charging and prevents the busbar
voltage from fluctuating during charging. The intelligent lithium battery limits the charge
current at 0.15C.
3. If the charge current limit coefficient of the power system is set to a small value, the
intelligent lithium battery will be charged slowly. If the busbar voltage decreases to 51 V
during system charge current limiting, the intelligent lithium battery will enter the discharge
state.
4. The BLVD voltage of the power system must range from 43.2 V to 43.5 V to ensure that the
power backup time for primary loads can be extended reliably.

2.6 Intelligent Lithium Battery Charge and Discharge Curves
When the discharge power is 4800 W, the power decreases to 4580 W when the busbar voltage
is 45.8 V and decreases to 4380 W when the busbar voltage is 43.8 V. When the discharge
power is less than or equal to 4380 W, the power remains constant when the busbar voltage is
45.8 V or 43.8 V.

3 Installing an Intelligent Lithium Battery
• It is recommended that intelligent lithium batteries of the same manufacturer, model, and
batch be installed.
• Comply with regulations and warnings issued by the intelligent lithium battery
manufacturer.
• Before installing intelligent lithium batteries, ensure that the battery circuit breakers in the
power system are OFF or that the battery fuses are removed.
• When routing cables, ensure that a distance of at least 30 mm exists between the cables and
heat-generating components or areas. This prevents damage to the insulation layer of the
cables.
• Do not route cables behind the air intake and exhaust vents of the equipment.
• Cables should meet the VW-1 flame-retardant requirements.
• Bind cables of the same type together. When routing cables of different types, ensure that
they are at least 30 mm away from each other.
• Ensure that all cables are securely bound. Route and bind cables so that they are neat and
tidy and cable sheaths are intact.
• The bending radius of a cable must be at least five times the diameter of the cable.

a) Install and check according to the
installation guide. If there are no floating
nuts on both sides of the rack, install the
floating nuts delivered with the cabinet.
b) Push an ESM into the cabinet and secure it.

4 Installing Lithium Battery Cables
Scenario 1: Hybrid Use of Intelligent Lithium Batteries and
4.1 Common Lithium Batteries (Recommended)
In the following figure, two intelligent lithium batteries are connected for capacity expansion. If
one circuit breaker or fuse does not meet the site load current requirements, connect the two
intelligent lithium batteries to two circuit breakers or fuses. One intelligent lithium battery
connects to the common lithium battery in parallel through the junction box and connects to
battery circuit breaker 1. The other intelligent lithium battery connects to circuit breaker 2.
When power failure occurs, the intelligent lithium batteries discharge preferentially and both
battery circuit breakers 1 and 2 bear the site load current.

Scenario 2: Hybrid Use of Intelligent Lithium Batteries and
4.2 Common Lithium Batteries
1. A mobile junction box is recommended. A –48 V/RTN+ junction box supports three inputs
and one output. That is, three intelligent lithium batteries can be combined into one output
and used in groups.
2. Two common lithium batteries and one intelligent lithium battery, or one common lithium
battery and two intelligent lithium batteries can be connected in parallel and connected to
one battery fuse (intelligent lithium batteries are not isolated from site batteries using circuit
breakers).
3. Three intelligent lithium batteries can be connected in parallel and connected to one battery
circuit breaker or fuse independently. Common lithium batteries at the site can be
independently connected to another battery circuit breaker or fuse.
4. If the intelligent lithium batteries connect to one battery circuit breaker or fuse in parallel
through a junction box, ensure that the maximum load current does not exceed the capacity
of the circuit breaker or fuse. Otherwise, the intelligent lithium battery is discharged
preferentially after a power failure, causing the circuit breaker or fuse to trip or be blown.
5. The input screw of the mobile junction box is M6-OT, the output screw is M8-OT, and the
output cable can be copper cables with a maximum cross-sectional area of 50 mm2.
6. The output through-current capability of the junction box is 250 A. If three lithium batteries
are connected, the load capability cannot exceed 250 A.
7. The maximum load current of the site must be less than the capacity of battery circuit
breaker 1.
8. The mobile junction box can be installed on both sides of the cabinet, which does not occupy
the cabinet space and is easy to operate.

Indoor power system
Build-out resistor
1. The common lithium battery is connected to one battery circuit breaker or fuse. Intelligent
lithium batteries are connected in parallel through the cabinet busbar and then connected to
another battery circuit breaker or fuse.
2. The maximum load current of the site should be less than the capacity of the battery circuit
breaker or fuse connected in parallel to the intelligent lithium batteries.
3. Application scenario: The number of intelligent lithium batteries is greater than or equal to
3, and the site has high power loads.
4. Connect the intelligent lithium battery to the busbar with a copper cable with a cross-
sectional area of 25 mm2.
5. Use copper cables with a cross-sectional area of greater than or equal to 50 mm2 to connect
the busbar and fuse 2.

Scenario 4: Hybrid Use of Intelligent Lithium Batteries and
4.4 Common Lithium Batteries (Not Recommended)
1. If the common lithium battery has four positive and negative wiring terminals and the
terminals meet the maximum load through-current capacity of the site, the intelligent
lithium battery can be cascaded with the site battery.
2. The power cable between the common lithium battery and the busbar must meet the
maximum load through-current requirements.
3. The power cascading solution supports a maximum of one intelligent lithium battery and
one common lithium battery connected in parallel.
4. There is no circuit breaker or fuse between the intelligent lithium battery and common
lithium battery, which poses security risks.
