પ્રસ્તાવના
વહાલાાં મમત્રો,
જીપીએસસી વર્ગ 1 અને 2ની નવી જાહેરાત (40/2018-19) આવી ર્ઈ છે . ઘણાાં બધાના
મનમાાં એ પ્રશ્ન હશે કે મારે કયાાં પુસ્તકો વાાંચવાાં જોઈએ ? કેવી રીતે તૈયારી કરવી જોઈએ ? સફળતા
માટે શુ ાં કોચચિંર્ ક્લાસ જોઇન કરવા અમનવાયગ છે ? શુ ાં ફક્ત અમદાવાદ અને ર્ાાંધીનર્રના ઉમેદવારો
જ પાસ થાય છે ? આ બધા પ્રશ્નોના ઉત્તર આપવાનો મવનમ્ર પ્રયાસ ગુજરાત વહીવટી સેવા વર્ગ-1
(નાયબ કલેક્ટર) બેચ 2018 દ્વારા આ માહહતી પુસ્સ્તકા તૈયાર કરીને કરવામાાં આવ્યો છે . આ
માહહતીમાાં આ બેચના 38 નાયબ કલેક્ટરશ્રીઓનો ઉપરના પ્રશ્નો મવશે અચિપ્રાયો તેમજ તેમના
મવષેની અન્ય જરૂરી માહહતીનો સાંગ્રહ કરવામાાં આવ્યો છે . અલર્ અલર્ ઉમેદવારો સ્પધાગત્મક
પરીક્ષાની તૈયારી માટે અલર્ અલર્ પ્રકારની રણનીમત બનાવે છે . જેમ કે કેટલાાંક નોટ્સ બનાવે છે
તો અન્ય નથી બનાવતાાં, કેટલાક હદવસે વાાંચે છે તો કેટલાક રાતે વાાંચે છે ....... આ પૈકી કોઈ
રણનીમત સવાાંર્ સાંપ ૂણગ નથી અને કદાચ હોઈ શકે પણ નહી. બધાએ પોતાની પ્રકૃમત પ્રમાણે રણનીમત
બનાવવી જોઈએ. અહી 38 નાયબ કલેક્ટરોની તૈયારી અને એમના અચિપ્રાયો મવષે માહહતી
આપવામાાં આવી છે , જે આપને જરૂરી રણનીમત ઘડવામાાં મદદરૂપ થશે એવી આશા છે . આ
માહહતીસાંગ્રહ તૈયાર કરવાનો મવચાર શ્રી કેત ુલ ઇટાચલયાને આવ્યો હતો અને શ્રી મપ્રતેશ પટેલ દ્વારા

Essay Overall preparation helps, make a list of a few good
quotes from the internet on all broad topics like
health, women empowerment, education etc.

Views on Note-making -Depends on person to person.
-IF one cannot remember unless s/he writes down
what they read, note making is essential.
-IF one is a fast reader and has good grasping capacity
and recall, note making may not be that effective.
-You can choose to make notes on only those topics
which you find difficult to remember or revise, other
topics you may skip.
-Notes should be extremely concise, ideally not more
than 100-150 pages for each paper.
-They should contain short phrases and important
keywords, facts, data points committees, supreme
court judgements etc with 1-2 lines explanation and
context.
-I made such notes for GS 2&3 (for UPSC) and for
Ancient and Medieval India from old NCERTs.

Additional Remarks -Everyone has a different strategy, the quicker you
find out one that suits you and implement it the
better.
-The simple rule is to play to your strengths and
identify and improve your weaknesses.
-Learning to mug up facts and eliminating options is
important for prelims, whereas clear and concise
writing with good presentation (intro-body-
conclusion answer format) is very essential for mains.
-One should focus on width of preparation and not
depth. Never go too deep inside any topic, no matter
how interesting it is.
- Be calm and confident and well-groomed for your
interview. Sit upright, be polite, and answer all
questions confidently. If you don’t know an answer,
just politely say “I don’t know”. Don’t worry about it.

Additional Remarks Revise multiple times, avoid reading from different
references on same topics, regularly practice answer
writing. Read relevant sections from newspapers
thoroughly, and Op-eds of newspapers can give clue
regarding language skill. Take a day out in week to
relax/refresh when exam is months away. Use this
day to engage in extra curricular activities/hobbies of
your choice. Don’t let negativity, biases or rumours
in¢uence your preparation. Do justice to all topics
mentioned in the syllabus. For Mains, write precise
and brief answers. Language should be grammatically
satisfactory, formal and decent with readable
handwriting. Follow Introduction-Body-Conclusion
format for 10 markers. For interview; be con¡dent,
concise, straightforward and honest. If needed,
attend mock interviews. Don’t let nervousness ruin
your interview. Be formal in language and your
presentation.
