Read the Source/Text given below and answer the following questions:

Reeta and Rohan were playing a game on parallel lines and the angles formed with
the transverse line (alternate angles, corresponding angle and interior angles). First
Reeta drew a Straight-line AB, then Rohan drew another straight-line CD||AB.
Further, a transverse line PQ was drawn which intersects lines AB and CD at
points X and Y respectively.

Based on the above resulting figure, answer the following questions:

(i) Write 2 pairs of Corresponding angles?

(ii) What are Supplementary angles? Give 2 examples from the figure?
(iii) If ∠4 = 120° then what is measure of ∠6?
2. Read the Source/Text given below and answer the following questions:

Once 4 students from Grade IX were selected for plantation of flower plants in
the school garden. The selected students were Pankaj, Raju, Deepak and Renu.
As shown PQ and MN are the parallel lines of the plants. Pankaj planted a
sunflower plant at P, then Raju planted another sunflower at Q. Further,
Deepak was called to plant any flowering plant at point M. He planted a
marigold there. Now it was the turn of Renu, she was told to plant a flowering
plant different from the three planted one So she planted a rose plat at ∠N.
There was a water pipeline XY which intersects PQ and MN at A and B and
XBN = 60°

(i) What is the Value of ∠z?

(ii) What is the value of p + q?
(iii) What is the value of (p+q+a+z)/6?
3. Read the Source/Text given below and answer the following questions:

Maths teacher draws a straight-line AB shown on the blackboard as per the

following figure.

Now he told Raju to draw another line CD as in the figure. The teacher told Ajay to
mark ∠ AOD as 2z. Suraj was told to mark ∠AOC as 4y.

Clive ∠COE = 60°. Now Answer the Questions below

(i) What is x+y?

(ii) What is the value of x?
(iii) Find ∠AOB?
4. Once the Maths teacher of class IX D told students that today we will prove that the
sum of all three angles is 180°. As shown in the figure, he told to draw any triangle
ABC in the notebook. Further side BC was extended to D.

Now the teacher said to draw CE||BA.

Further angles were named 1 to 5 as shown in the figure.

Now answer the following questions:

(i) BA||CE and AC is the transverse line, so ∠ 1 is equal to which angle?

(ii) What is value of ∠3 + ∠4 + ∠5?
(iii) Is ∠4= ∠1+∠2? Give reason for your answer?
5. Read the Source/Text given below and answer following questions:

Ashok is studying in 9th class in Govt School, Pune. Once he was at his home and
was doing his geometry homework. He was trying to measure three angles of a
triangle using the Dee, but his dee was old and his Dee's numbers were erased and the
lines on the dee were visible.
Let us help Ashok to find the angles of the triangle.

He found that the second angle of the triangle was three times as large as the first. The
measure of the third angle is double of the first angle.

(i) What was the value of the first angle?

(ii) What was the value of the third angle?
(iii) What was the sum of all three angles measured by Ashok using Dee?
