Application
The teacher will introduce another activity which will serve as an application of
learnings or concepts based on the discussion and activity which is entitled "Devising a
Plot".
The teacher will divide the class into 2 groups. Instruct them to take Character cards
and, without showing them the words on the back, ask each group to pick two cards. Do
the same with the Emotion cards and Prop cards, making sure that a different group
picks first every time. Each group should end up with: two Character cards, two Emotion
cards, and two Prop cards.
The teacher will tell the groups to think of a simple plot for a play that uses all their
different cards. They can add in other characters, emotions and props, but they must
include the ones that they already have.
When the groups have finished, ask a spokesperson from each group to tell the
whole class which cards their group picked and how they turned them into a story.
The teacher will give them 5-10 minutes only to brainstorm and rehearse.
Let them present their outputs in front of the class.
Rubrics will be used to evaluate their presentations.
Generalization
One representative from each group will share their realizations and overall insights
about the things/scenarios they have performed.
Assessment

desirable characteristics of a realistic play.
