Note: Apologies for the late submission I got a very bad fever, and couldn’t submit on time.

MAJOR SIMILARITIES
1. Approach to Failure
Elon Musk and Satya Nadella are similar in that they both see failure as a necessary
component of growth, innovation, and learning. Both think that a company’s failure can
be a necessary step toward steady, long-term, and successful growth and success. Elon
Musk stated, “Here, failure is a possibility. You are not innovating enough if things are
not failing. Elon Musk promotes taking chances and trying new things all the time until
you get the right outcome. In a same vein, Satya Nadella places a strong focus on
growing from mistakes and viewing them as chances for development. However, I think
that both of these leaders are capable of taking calculated chances that lead to
advancement.

2. Approach to Learning
Elon Muska and Satya Nadella have similar approaches to learning. Elon Musk, as we
have previously examined, is a lifelong learner and feels that you can only do anything to
the best of your ability if you are aware of what you are doing. Similar to this, Satya
Nadella promoted learning by emphasizing the value of being inquisitive in order to
uncover the answers to the questions that cause you to doubt yourself. Both leaders
understand that in the age of rapid technological advancement, it is critical to be up to
date on the latest advancements and shifts in perspective, and they make an effort to
gather information from all relevant sources in order to make the best decision possible.
MAJOR DIFFERENCES
1. Leadership Style
Elon Musk has a transactional, transformative, and autocratic leadership style that is
primarily results-oriented. His “I KNOW IT ALL” mentality and tendency to overstate
expectations in his words and visions can occasionally or frequently result in a poisonous
work atmosphere. On the other hand, Satya Nadella leads Microsoft with a democratic
and compassionate approach that fosters inclusivity and teamwork, with a primary goal
of forging solid interorganizational ties.

2. Risk-Taking
Both leaders are risk-takers, but their techniques differ. Elon Musk takes a risk by
repeatedly trying and continuing to do things he is failing at, like as his SpaceX program,
until he succeeds. Because there is a good chance he will fail no matter how long it takes,
it takes courage to be thus confident in your ability to keep going in the face of failure.
For Satya, risk-taking occurs in areas where he believes progress is essential. For
example, it was a hazardous move to prioritize people over organizations when Microsoft
was struggling. Most leaders would have prioritized organization above people, but he
did the reverse, which must have been a very risky decision.
