Research Design

MacMillan and Schumacher (2001:166) define research design as a plan for selecting subjects, research
sites, and data collection procedures to answer the research question(s). They further indicate that the
goal of a sound research design is to provide results that are judged to be credible.

Hence, this study employs a descriptive research design to perceive the implementation on sustaining
green practices in the Hospitality Establishment in Dagupan City. Saunders et al. and Miller say that
descriptive research portrays an accurate profile of persons, events, or situations. This design offers to
the researchers a profile of described relevant aspects of the phenomena of interest from an individual,
organizational, and industry-oriented perspective. Therefore, this research design enabled the
researchers to gather data from guest respondents on the implementing of Green Practices in
Hospitality Establishment in Dagupan City.

A research design is a comprehensive strategy that describes the method and procedure for gathering
and interpreting data. All researchers must deliberate and outline correctly based on the data collected,
ensuring that it is appropriate for the specific study endeavor. In this study, the researchers used
descriptive research. Descriptive research describes the characteristics of objects, people, groups,
organizations, or environments. It also addresses who, what, where, and how questions. Besides,
descriptive studies are conducted with a considerable understanding of the situation being studied
Zikmund, Babin, Carr, & Griffin (2013). The descriptive method was used in this study to evaluate the
implementation of Green Practices on Hospitality Establishments in Dagupan City.
