What is Rounding?
Rounding means making a number simpler but keeping its value close to what it
was.
The rounded number is an estimate value of the given number.
The rounded value is an easier representation of the given number.

Steps when Rounding Numbers to the Nearest Hundred


Step 1: Study the number to be rounded.
Step 2: To round a number to the nearest hundred, mark the digit in the tens
column.
Step 3: Use a number line.
(i) If the digit in the tens column is between 0 and 4, we round to the smaller
hundred in the number line.
(ii) If the digit in the tens column is between 5 and 9, we round to the greater
hundred in the number line.

Example :
a) Round 172 to the nearest hundred, the answer is 200

Round each number to the nearest 100 and then follow the color code to color the
