This performance will try to convey to the audience the idea that no matter how big or

little an issue or problem is, there are countless innocent people who are touched in countless
ways that no one may have ever considered. During my thought track (iman’s thought track) this
idea is being supported, with the idea that the big war happening between Iran and Iraq
represents a conflict in our performance and all the soldiers are being affected because they
have to train extra hard in their training to save Iraq’s people. We aim to convey the various
emotions one could have when going through a process or a transition, as well as the possible
options for that person or character to pursue. For example, as I have become a great big part
of Karim’s life I take part in all the grief and emotion that he feels after his parents die which is
being represented in the gestural sequence. The actions produced in the gestural sequence
represent his emotions such as a head-hand grip in shock, fainting because of grief and a
prayer for the better. We want the audience to experience, along with the play, all the hard work
that may be done at various stages to finish in peace or success. As a result, we hope that the
audience will feel empathy for all of these people who are touched. We desire for the viewers to
reflect and recall what are the ways I can spread awareness so that people can help me prevent
conflicts so that no innocent people are affected. During the climax of this story, I am teaching
and instructing my soldiers on how we will accomplish peace, by destroying Iran’s base to teach
them a lesson. But during this, Nour also dies, showing yet another example of someone else
being touched and why empathy is encouraged to the audience. Overall, I show empathy and a
feeling of sorrow towards all the people affected by speaking about it in my thought track, taking
part in demonstrating the emotions felt by Karim and more.

To show this message I will use an empathetic facial expression during my thought track
to convey the empathy message. I will jump off the block which is a production element during
my thought track to convey the seriousness on how bad some people can be touched and why
it is so important, me jumping off will create a dramatic effect. In the climax of the show, the light
will turn red when I am teaching and instructing my plan, this is when Nour dies after Iran finds
our secret training camp. There will be red lighting because these moments in the show will be
very intense. To represent this, the performance element that I will incorporate is my posture
which will be straight and coordinated as an appropriate length between my feet, my back
straight, and my arms and my hand gestures along with my explanation. My voice will be dead
serious and focused and my facial expression will be exaggerated when we have to accomplish
something important, but otherwise it will stay serious. During the gestural sequence, I will have
three main gestures: praying, fainting from grief and intense shock. My posture may be a little
weak as all of it is so hard to take in. The light will be spotlighted to Karim and they will be blue
because blue represents the emotion of sadness and grief.
