Sub: SUPW - Grade 10 (2024-25)

Dear Students,

You are required to do any or a combination of the activities given below as part
of your SUPW project. The activities you choose must add up to a total of 20 hours.

Maintain a log of all the activities that you undertake. Journals must be maintained
using a physical journal book.
(Note: Refer to the end of the page for the format of the log book.)

■ Deadline for Submission of Journal: Thursday, 31st October 2024.

■ Activities:
Community work may include any one of the following:
➢ Visiting the mobile crèche and teaching the children there.
➢ Visiting old age homes and spending time with them.
➢ Visiting an orphanage and showing love and concern for the children there.
➢ Participating in a cleanliness drive.
➢ Teaching our helpers, in school or outside, how to read and write.
➢ Planting of saplings.

Note: If you are interested in doing activity no. 4, 5 or 6, you must give your name
to your respective class teachers. The class teachers will divide students into two
groups - one group will make the teaching aids and the other will teach the Support
Staff using the teaching aids made.

7. Carbon Footprint - EJunk


Disposal: Identify and document
the e-waste in your house. Find
ways to recycle, upgrade or donate
the same. Describe any one such
process that you have zeroed in on
and make a 2 min video to create
awareness among others about the
same. You may use captivating Once In 3 Months - 2 Hours
images, captions and music to
enhance your presentation. Provide
a bibliography of the sites that you
have referred to in the process. You
are expected to come up with
sustainable solutions to this
environmental issue of the
irresponsible disposal of EJunk.

8. Carbon Footprint - Household


Waste:
Watch any video pertaining to Daily - 30 Minutes
carbon footprint. Document your
work, observations and the end

result. In case the process does not
lead to the desired result, analyse
the reasons behind the same and
re-work the process. The
documentation can be in the form
of pictures, time lapse videos and
the like. A date wise log needs to be
maintained which should then be
ratified by the parents.

9. Carbon Footprint - Calculating


Energy Consumption: Make a
note of all the gadgets and electric
resources used in your house. Also,
observe the amount of fuel used.
Make a rough estimate of how Daily - 30 Minutes
much energy is being consumed by
each of the utilities. Make a chart
or data entry sheet and record the
same.

10. To Minimize Carbon Footprint -


Growing Microgreens: Grow a
plant (flowering plants/vegetables
like green chillies, tomatoes,
ginger, turmeric, onions and the
like) and document the process of
growth. You may note the problems Daily - 30 Minutes
faced by you in the process. You
are free to create a time lapse video
to depict the process of
germination or the flowering of the
plant.
