Writing
Students should be able to:
1. Write about their day. (Write about your daily routine)
2. Write about their favourite food and the food they do not like.
3. Write about what they did the day before (yesterday).

Lesson 1
Warm up
Take a clock and ask students about the time.

What word repeats once and again?
Work with a handout the following one which may serve as an example.

Students may need to revise spelling so maybe another way to help them is by asking them to complete.

You may play BINGO with your students.


You will need small cards with clocks and cards with the time (clocks)
You can either call out the time or you can ask one of your students to take a clock and call out the time.
If you have plenty of students, you may have clocks of different colours and so you call out: “red, three
o´clock” or “yellow three o’clock”.

Lesson 2
Give students pictures of daily activities. They draw clocks with the time they carry out these activities.

Now listen to the song again. What time do these children do the different activities?

TPR activities can be carried out while they are singing the song.
Think Big: follow suggestions in the Teacher’s book.

Lesson 3
Look at the story.
Identify Max. You may use this as a reading activity instead of a listening activity.
Do the activities in the activity book (page 56)
Is your day different to Max’s day?
Work with the sts and come up with ideas together so that you can prepare them for the writing task.
WRITING TASK. You may present the writing task in the following way:

In case your students are very weak you may want to include visual aids in order to offer your students
some guidance.

Write about your day


Use: get up, have breakfast, school, homework, watch TV

Lesson 4
Aim: students will be able to ask questions about other people’s daily routine.
Warm up:
Ask students to name daily routine activities.
You can write them on the board and match the phrases to flashcards.
Then give them clocks and they match the activity with the clocks.
(each student will probably choose different times)
Then, you call out the correct answers and see who has more matches.

Presentation
Ask the students who have chosen different times:
According to you: When does _______ get up?
PLACE THE QUESTION ON THE BOARD AS A MARKER SENTENCE.
Ask the rest of the student for further information
Carry out the same procedure for other activities.
Then, ask students to get information from other students.

Introduce two characters and do the same but asking


When do ______ and _______ get up?
Repeat with other activities.

Focus on the difference.

Lesson 5
Revise all the vocabulary so that sts can work with questions and answers.
Once they feel confident enough, you should guide them in order to make them stick the clocks.

History content
If your students are fast learners, there is a video which talks about the history of clocks.
They may not understand everything but the animation may allow you to connect the video with the

Work with the lesson following the T’s book and the activity book.

This can be used to introduce simple past.

Lesson 6
Values.
Follow the book and perhaps you can design a poster with good habits.

Lesson 8
SIMPLE PAST
Start by asking: “What day is today?” Leave that on the board because it will be very helpful.
Revise the phrases related to routines
Now on the calendar show that you will be working with the day before (yesterday)

Yesterday was a mess!

Then, focus on the actions.
Make sure students understand that the sentences refer to the past.

Design different activities for students to work with the past of regular and irregular verbs related to
daily routines.

Lesson 1
Take realia or flashcards.
Ask students to group them.
Go through some of the names of the food elements, they may be too many for students to learn in one
lesson.

Play memory game matching game the pictures with the names.
