Job Applications with Resume

Guidelines:
 A job Application has two parts
a. Covering letter
b. Biodata/ Resume/ Curriculum Vitae
 Covering Letter has the conventional format of a formal letter
 Tone must be formal, precise and polite
 Must give a glimpse of your educational achievements, work
experience and personality
 Avoid bragging about yourself, at all costs
 Do not make it too lengthy
Covering Letter contd.

 Covering letter must have 3 paragraphs and must include the following:
a. Mention how you became aware of the vacancy and the post you are applying
for ( para 1)
b. Give a brief description of yourself. State your qualifications and job
experience, if any. Mention a few qualities that make you the ideal candidate.
Make it clear why you are interested in working for this particular company or
field / why you wish to be considered for the post ( para2)
c. Mention that you have included your biodata , copies of relevant certificates and
testimonials . Assure them of your sincerity , wholehearted commitment,
cooperation, if considered for the job. ( para 3)
