Care for God’s Creation

We show our respect for the Creator by our stewardship of creation. Care for the Earth is
not just an Earth Day slogan, it is a requirement of our faith. We are called to protect people and
the planet, living our faith in relationship with all of God’s creation. This environmental
challenge has fundamental moral and ethical dimensions that cannot be ignored.
Communal Responsibilities
 Promoting Sustainable Practices Reduce, reuse, and recycle to minimize waste. Adopt
energy-efficient technologies and practices. Support local and sustainable agriculture.

 Conserving Natural Resources Protect and restore ecosystems and habitats. Preserve
water quality and quantity through responsible usage. Plant trees and native vegetation to
enhance biodiversity.

 Advocating for Environmental Justice Address environmental inequalities and


advocate for equitable access to resources. Stand against environmental racism and
discrimination. Support policies and initiatives that prioritize marginalized communities.

 Educating and Raising Awareness Provide environmental education programs for all
ages. Engage in community outreach and awareness campaigns. Promote a culture of
environmental stewardship and responsibility.

 Fostering Sustainable Communities Develop sustainable infrastructure and


transportation systems. Create green spaces and urban gardens. Encourage community
involvement in environmental decision-making.

 Protecting Wildlife and Biodiversity Preserve natural habitats and wildlife corridors.
Combat poaching, illegal wildlife trade, and habitat destruction. Advocate for the
protection of endangered species and their habitats.

 Reducing Pollution Minimize air, water, and soil pollution through responsible
