A] Explain how it is possible to increase the performance

of a CPU/ microprocessor. In your explanation, include
some of the risks associated with your suggestions to
improve performance.

settings to prioritize performance over visual effects. Be aware that this might alter the user
interface experience slightly.
Change Processor Power Management Settings: Lower the maximum power processor state to
99% (for Intel chips) to maintain better performance without excessive heat. However, be
cautious when adjusting power settings.
Overclocking: Push your CPU beyond default clock speeds for increased performance. Keep in
mind that overclocking can impact component lifespan and void warranties

b What is meant by the term instruction set?

An instruction set is a group of commands for a central processing
unit (CPU) in machine language. The term can refer to all possible
instructions for a CPU or a subset of instructions to enhance its
performance in certain situations.

A car is fitted with the latest GPS navigation system. This

device is controlled by an embedded system in the form
of a microcontroller. a Describe the inputs needed by the
embedded system and describe which outputs you would
expect it to produce.

need to take the car to the garage every six months.

these updates, ensuring accurate navigation. Unlike smartphones, car GPS devices have long-
