Fork

(Double Attack)
It is a chess tactic.
When two targets or two pieces are attacked simultaneously, it is called a
Fork (double attack) in chess. It is also known as Forks.

Here White Bishop is attacking the Black


Queen and the Black Rook at the same time

Queen being the more valuable piece than


the Rook, it will defend itself by moving it to
a safe square.

Black Queen moved to the safe square &


White Bishop captured the Black Rook.
