This report is about my internship program with Xilligence Technologies Pvt.Ltd. In this
comprehensive report, I have discussed about every major aspect of the company, which I
observed and perceived during my Internship program.

Since being founded in 2000, Xilligence has a 20+ year proven track record of successfully
designing, developing and supporting software and technology solutions. The companies
functioning in terms of their organizational structure, the departments, company policies and
their services are given greater importance.

As the main purpose of internship is to learn by working in practical environment and to apply
the knowledge acquired during the studies in a real world scenario. This internship report covers
many important aspects which are basically related with the Human Resource Management and
Marketing aspects of the organization.

This report also includes SWOC analysis which gives us an overall view about the strength,
weakness, opportunities and challenges of the company. Through this study it is understood that
the company provides training for improving the skills of the employees and also conducting
effective training programs for the employees according to their needs.

ABOUT INTERNSHIP
An internship is a temporary job role that's often related to one's academic field of study
or career interests. It can offer a beginner in a career field practical experience within a
professional role. The internship program’s objectives are to give field-experienced
students a forum for sharing their perspectives, investigate the connections between their
academic preparation and their fieldwork and help participants plan and carry out the
major research project that will be the culmination of their internship experiences. Here
the main purpose of the internship is to study the organization. The aim of organizational
study is to gain practical knowledge about the organization.
The organizational study was conducted at XILLIGENCE TECHNOLOGIES PVT.LTD.
Thiruvananthapuram. I was working in the HR department under the guidance of
Mrs.Aswathy SK who is the HR Executive of the organization.

1.2 Industry Analysis

In the past few decades the Information Technology industry has observed fast growth
throughout the globe. By speeding up the construction of internet economy platform, a
large number of industrial parks and bases with their own characteristics will be built. In
IT industry, smart terminals will be further enhanced. The internet of things will be
further refined. Software and information services will be optimized. The application
software and business intelligence software will be greatly developed.
The importance of technology in our modern world means that the technology industry is
a true force to be reckoned with. The sheer size of the industry makes it one of the
dominant sectors in the global economy, and the rapid growth and rate of change within
the industry make it a central player in developing business standards and regulations.
The impact of technology goes far beyond the core tech industry, though. While there are
myriad opportunities directly related to digital product development or service delivery,
there are countless more opportunities opening around the world as technology influences
every business and every industry vertical.
IT Services is a major part of IT industry in India. IT services include client, server and
web based services. Opportunities in IT services sector exist in the areas of consulting
services, management services, internet services and application maintenance. The
extensive use of information and technology is done by many services. These services are
categorized as IT-enabled services. The IT enabled services is the most important
contributor to the growth of the IT industry of India.
Software products are among the most highly exported products from India. The
hardware sector of the IT industry focuses on the manufacturing and assembling of
computer hardware. The consumption of computer hardware is high in the domestic
market. Due to the rise in number of IT companies, sales of desktops, laptops, servers,
routers, etc have been on the rise in recent years. Xilligence technologies Pvt.Ltd. is
established in 2000, an outsourcing firm dealing with apps & web design, machine
learning, business intelligence, automation & staffing. The company provides Digital
transformation services including software testing & QA.

Digital transformation takes a customer-driven, digital-first approach to all aspects of a
business, from its business models to customer experiences to processes and operations. It
uses AI, automation, hybrid cloud and other digital technologies to leverage data and
drive intelligent workflows, faster and smarter decision-making, and real-time
response to market disruptions. Digitalization is the use of digital technologies to
change business processes and projects—such as skilling employees to use new
software platforms designed to help launch products faster. While digital
transformation might include digitalization efforts, it goes beyond the project level and
affects the entire organization. Software testing is the process of evaluating and
verifying that a software product or application performs its intended functions. It’s
used to reduce or eliminate bugs and minimize the amount of money a company must
invest in addressing issues and releasing updates. Software testing is important because
the impact of untested or underperforming software can have a trickle-down or domino
effect on thousands of users and employees. QA stands for Quality Assurance, which is a
process or set of activities designed to ensure that a product or service meets specific
quality requirements. It is a crucial aspect of software development, manufacturing,
and various other industries. Quality Assurance aims to prevent defects or issues before
they reach the end-users, ensuring that the product meets the desired quality standards, is
reliable, and performs as expected. It plays a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction,
minimizing risks, and maintaining the reputation of a company or product.

Mr. Prakash Satyapalan is the Chief Technology Officer of the organization. He spent his career
working in India and US for leading tech companies in senior technology and managerial roles
such as Stubhub (eBay), IBM (Cognos) and SAS Institute. He has over 20 years of experience in
software development, design and Business Intelligence. He holds a master’s degree in
Computer Science.

Reliance General Insurance) and linked health monitoring technologies (IoT). The purple

platform and product suite were designed and build by Xilligence, which also continues

use since 2012 and was launched on schedule and within budget.

From the individual ecommerce store builder to the marketplace model and aggregator site,
Xilligence developed the whole product suite for MyyShopp. The websites and back-end
technologies for this solution were constructed on the cloud by Xilligence using tools from
Amazon Web Services, while the mobile applications were created using cross-platform React
Native, iOS, and Android technologies.

Business analysts and designers from Xilligence documented the requirements, created
wireframes and prototypes, and then delivered the multiple platforms for MyyShopp on time and
under budget in order to help its clients, manage the numerous MyyShopp platforms. Xilligence
continues to maintain the applications and enhance and upgrade them as well.

2.5.1 HR& Admin & Accounts

HR department is one of the key department in Xilligence. In the starting periods, the HR
department had no big tasks to perform rather than basic employee handling and record keeping.
But as time passed, globalization struck the market, everywhere changes were happening. Each
and every sector in the organization start transforming themselves so as to cope up with the
essential change. In this changing culture HR department also evolved, in the present day world
HR department acts as a bridge between the employee and the organization. Everything related
to the employee and organization has to go through this bridge to happen. The Human Resource
Department (HR Department) of Xilligence performs human resource management, overseeing
various aspects of employment, such as compliance with labor law and employment standards,
interviewing, administration of employee benefits, organizing of employee files with the required
documents for future reference, and some aspects of recruitment and employee off boarding.
They serve as the link between an organization’s management and its employees. To avail of
any leave, the employee should submit a formal application to the Human Resources
Department. If an employee is planning to avail leave, it must be marked in HRMS (Human
Resource Management System) portal.HR is responsible for giving initial training for the new
recruits. This includes giving awareness about their job, making them understand about the
company policies etc. The HR is responsible for organizing various programs associated with an
organization.HR is responsible for creating a positive influence among the employees and the
company through his/her smart work. In case of any problem situation which arises from the
employee side the HR should find out about the problem, know what the employee is going
through and motivate him. The main responsibilities of the HR department in Xilligence are as
follows:

 Recruiting new talents to the organization is a strenuous task. This has to be carried out
without space for any errors also. The various steps in the recruitment process include
finding out the openings, sort out applicants, invite them for the interview and select the
most suitable applicant.
 The HR should make sure that the new recruit is undergoing proper training without
flaws and he is developing his skill set through proper training.
 Employee development is also one of the important responsibility of the HR department.
The employee development can be made possible through various strategies like

which give the employee to know about himself, know his weak points and strongholds
and thus transforming himself for working to the fullest, effective communication with
the employee which reduce the communication gap between employee and an
organization.
 When some problems arise between the employee and the organization it is the
responsibility of the HR department to resolve these problems and find a proper solution
for it.
 The HR department is responsible for managing employees. The attendance of the
employees, their late comings, leaves etc. are totally maintained by the HR department.
 The HR is also responsible for the payroll activities. Starting with the employee salary and
everything related to it is under the HR department.
The wage cuts, reimbursements,
payslips etc. come under this category.
The company's finance/Accounts department serves a fundamental role in making financial
decisions for internal and external affairs. A business’s activities depend on the competence of
the company’s finance department and the individuals who comprise it. The finance department
is organized by, and runs according to, specific roles and duties. The department controls the
income and expenditure in addition to ensuring effective business running with minimum
disruptions.

It uses and synthesizes financial analysis information to assist in business decision-

 Preparing and forecasting budgets

2.7. Organization Policies

2.7.1 HR Policy

HR policies, also known as human resources policies, are a set of guidelines and procedures
established by an organization to govern its approach to managing its employees and their work-
related activities. These policies provide a framework for consistency, fairness, and compliance
within the organization. It is mandatory for every associate to strictly follow the company
policies:

Working Hours: The total working hours is 8 hours. Work shift & timings of an employee shall
be based on the project you are assigned, which are to be strictly followed. If an employee has
taken leave, it must be marked in HRMS portal.

Leave and Attendance policy: A permanent employee of the company is entitled to 12


(Twelve) days of Casual Leave and 10 days of privilege leave in a year. To avail of any leave,
the employee should submit a formal application to the Human Resources Department, through
his/her immediate supervisor.

Probation/Confirmation Policy: All newly hired associate will undergo a probationary period
to ensure that their performance meets expectations. Continued employment is subject to
satisfactory probationary performance reviews. The normal duration of probation period is 6
months, during which the company shall be training the employees.

Biometric Attendance: Attendance will also be recorded as on biometric reports. It is


mandatory that employee should punch in/out in proper manner.

Overall, Internship is a really good program that helps to influence and develop my skills,
abilities and knowledge. Xilligence is also a good place to do internship. Xilligence is a
technology and outsourcing firm dealing with apps and web design, machine learning, business
intelligence, automation and staffing.

Throughout my internship, I could understand more about the definition of an HR Executive and
prepare myself to become a responsible and innovative HR manager in future. Along my
internship period, I realize that observation is a main element to find out the root cause of a
problem. Not only for my internship but daily activities too. During my internship, I cooperate
with my colleagues and supervisors to determine the problems. Moreover, the internship
indirectly helps me to learn independently, discipline myself be considerate, patient, self-trust
and the ability to solve problems. Apart from that, I had also developed my communication skills
while communicating with others.

The 45 days internship program in Xilligence has enabled me to acquire practical knowledge on
the management theories and real-life workplace experience in a first-person perspective. The
valuable time spent at the firm enabled me to develop a network of contacts for future career
enhancements. The internship program enhanced both my technical as well as communication
skills by working as a human resource intern. The team gave me immense support and many
