SAINT SCRAPBOOK
Inquiry Project
Unit 2 Grade 7 Religion

Praying to the saints is a great way of connecting to God, but sometimes we don’t know which
saint to pray to! Together as a class, we will create a reference book of the saints that inspire us
to use in our classroom.
The Assignment:
o Choose a Saint whose life story inspires or gives you courage in your life today. Once
you have chosen your Saint, retell their story in the form of 2 page scrapbook. Your
pages should be visually appealing and include pictures.
o Make sure to include a write up that answers all of the key questions about your saint,
and your personal connection to them. This write up must be in paragraph format.
The Details:
Biography – Make sure to include:
o Their feast day
o The date they were beatified (if possible)
o The date they became a saint
o Their birth and death dates
o The story about why they are a saint, what did they do?
Personal Connections – Make sure to include:
o Explain how they can inspire you, with specific examples
o Goals you can set for yourself using the saint of the Church as a model
o Retell a time when you found inspiration or courage from a specific saint
o Explain how the saint still has a relationship with the Christian community
Grading:
o You will be graded according to the rubric on the back.
