1. RESPONDING TO THE TEXT

 Make a list of five events from the chapters 1, 2 and 3- write a key word to
summarise each event.
 Make a list of unknown words. Use the text to estimate the meaning of the
words and then check your understanding using a dictionary.
 Keep a list of WOW words that you would like to use in your speaking/writing.
 Answer the following questions:
a) What impression do you get of Daniel as a character? How has the author

b) Describe Jamie´s feelings leading up to the announcement of the football team.

match?

your answer.
f) In what way do Jas and Jamie support each other? Find a range of words and
phrases to support your answer.
g) Why didn’t Jamie tell Jas the truth about the bruises on his face? Do you think
he did the right thing keeping the truth from her? Why/why not?

3. EXPLORING LANGUAGE
