Means,

Variance and
Standard
deviation

INSPIRED BY
What is Mean?
Mean is the average of the given
numbers and is calculated by dividing
the sum of given numbers by the total
number of numbers. Mean = (Sum of
all the observations/Total number of
observations)
What is variance
Variance measures variability from the average or mean. It
is calculated by taking the differences between each
number in the data set and the mean, then squaring the
differences to make them positive, and finally dividing the
sum of the squares by the number of values in the data
set.
What is Standard deviation?
the standard deviation is a measure of the
amount of variation of a random variable
expected about its mean. A low standard
deviation indicates that the values tend to be
close to the mean of the set, while a high
standard deviation indicates that the values
are spread out over a wider range.
Example
Consider a population
consisting of 1,2,3,4,5 and
suppose samples of 3 are
drawn from this population.

and standard deviation of
sample mean
