Photography

6.) Shadow - gives depth to 2D
images.
7.) Contrast - visual ratio of
different tones in an image.
8.) Human Interest - candid shots
stand out.
9.) Isolation - ability to draw viewer’s
attention to the main subject.

Basic Film Elements
1.) Narrative - about what the
movie is, the characters, the
world.

framed, formed, and colored in
its own way of photography.
3.) Sound - most powerful aspect of
film.

feeling and perception of
a scene.
b. Dialogue - verbal
converse of characters.
c. Sound Effect - makes
specific story-telling.
4.) Mise-en-scene - the things that
appear in the film’s frames.

The Philippine Animation Process
1.) Pre-Production
a. Story - basis of all other
elements. Script first.
b. Storyboarding - process
of breaking down scripts
into scenes and drawing it
into panels.
c. Editorial - creating
animatics based on
drawn panels. Animatics
presents the beats of the
story.
d. Visual Development -
creating the final look of
the animation.

the script and storyboard
to scale characters and
environment in 3D space.
Serves as a blueprint.
2.) Production
a. Modelling - produces digital
objects capable of being fully
animated.
b. Surfacing - surface artists use
colors, textures, and shades.
c. Rigging - gives characters the
ability to move their faces and
bodies.
d. Layout and Set Dressing -
involves conceptualization of
environments based on the
story. Tasked to design the stage
and set dressing is preparation
of appropriate props.
e. Character Animation - brings
the character alive by using the
rig. Movements and expressions
are important.
f. Crowd Simulation - responsible
for animating large no. of
characters.
g. Technical Directing - make
scenes feel alive and believable.
They create motion or
simulation that responds to the
way the character moves.
h. Lighting - an important element
in creating the hook and tone,
guides the viewer’s eyes.
3.) Post-Production
a. Compositing - all individual
frames are rendered together to
create the final edited version.
Tweak color and adjust depth of
field.
b. Music and Sound Design - 2
elements that are added during
the last stages of animation.
