Scaling Down a Lodge

Scaling Down
Suppose the height of the lodge is 4 of
4 arm spans
my arm spans.

What steps would you need to take to

build a model reduction of the lodge
with a scale factor of 1/12 ?
Scaling Down
Choose a unit of measurement - 4 arm spans
thumb to pinky, hand width, 3 fingers,
arms at sides - to convert 4.3 arm
lengths into. How can you convert it?

Take that number and multiply it by

1/12. Now you have the height of a
1/12 scale model!
My Results
4 armspans = 87.25 4-finger widths

87.25 x 1/12 = 7.271 4-finger widths ≈ 1 arms-at-sides
