Special Conditions: 2-hour wall joint between concrete wall and gypsum wallboard assembly. Nominal joint
width is max ½ in. and max joint depth is 5/8 in. Request to use ¼ in. depth of FD 150+ Sealant.
Application Details: To firestop this application, install in accordance with UL System WW-D-0047 with the
following modifications/clarifications:

1. Install a min 3/8 in. depth of min 4 pcf mineral wool compressed min 50% into the joint,
recessed from the surface of the gypsum wallboard, on both sides of the assembly.
2. Apply min ¼ in. depth of sealant over the mineral wool, tooled flush with the surface of the
wall on both sides of the assembly.

NOTE: Wall assembly must be a 2-hour rated wall assembly as determined by an independent third-
party testing and listing agency (such as UL, OPL/Intertek, FM Approvals, etc.) or by the local
Authority Having Jurisdiction.

This Engineering Judgment (EJ) is based upon the sole and exclusive use of 3M brand Fire Protection
Products as described within. Modification of any of the parameters of this EJ, including, without limitation,
the use of non-3M brand Fire Protection Products, shall render this EJ null and void. This fire-resistive joint
design is expected to achieve the hourly rating indicated above. This engineering judgment is based on
performance results obtained in testing with independent laboratories and / or internal 3M fire tests, which
have been tested in accordance to ASTM E 1966 (UL 2079).
