Project: Etrea Contractor: V&V Bravo

Firestopping Category: Pen Seals / Misc Hourly Rating / Type: 1 and 2 Hour / F
Mechanical
Assembly Penetrated: Concrete Block Opening Size: Sized to accomodate penetrant and max
annular space
Penetrating Item: Steel Duct: Penetrant Shape : Annular Space: Min: 0.5 inch Max: 1.5 inch
Square Length : 24 inch Width : 24 inch
Space Between Penetrants: Single Penetrating
Item

Special Conditions: Max 24 in x 24 in 22 gauge (or heavier) steel duct to penetrate a concrete block,
concrete structural wall assembly. Requesting solution using FD 150+ and MW.
Application Details: To firestop this application, install in accordance with UL System W-J-7111 with the
following modifications/clarifications:

1. The inclusion of FD-150+ is not expected to adversely affect the performance of the system
in a fire scenario, provided all other system parameters are met.

NOTE: Due to the size of the ducts exceeding the maximum allowable size, damper manufacturer
must approve in writing this size damper to be used in conjunction with this firestop system.

NOTE: If the ducts are dampered, this Engineering Judgment is null and void. Dampered ducts must
be fire stopped per damper manufacturer’s installation instructions. The ducts must be constructed
to IMC and/or SMACNA guidelines for gauge, construction, and support.

3M Fire Barrier Material:

IC 15WB+ Sealant, CP 25WB+ Sealant, FB 3000 WT Silicone Sealant, FD 150+ Sealant
Based On: W-J-7111, W-L-7223
This Engineering Judgment (EJ) is based upon the sole and exclusive use of 3M brand Fire Protection
Products as described within. Modification of any of the parameters of this EJ, including, without limitation,
the use of non-3M brand Fire Protection Products, shall render this EJ null and void. The firestop design is
expected to achieve the hourly rating indicated above. This engineering judgment is based on
performance results obtained in testing with independent laboratories and / or internal 3M fire tests, which
have been tested in accordance to ASTM E 814 (UL 1479).
