Guideline
• Create 2 posters in the style of Nazi propaganda
during the Nazi Germany Era, similar to what Joseph
Goebbels (Chapter 3.4) would have done.
• The 2 posters you create must have the following
elements:
• Poster 1: Pro-Nazi message
• Poster 2: Suppression of enemies of Nazism
• Consider what each image is trying to communicate to
the viewer and write an academic essay of about 300
words FOR EACH POSTER.
Essay guideline
1. What is the message being conveyed? 0.5 marks per guideline
2. Who is the audience for this message?
3. How is the message conveyed?
4. Why do you think this message was important to be conveyed by the Nazis?
5. How do the ideas in these posters connect to what you have already learned about Nazi ideology?
6. How do they extend your thinking about Nazi ideas?
7. How do you think the Nazis used propaganda to define the identities of individuals and groups?
8. What groups and individuals did Nazi propaganda glorify?
9. What stereotypes did it promote?
10.Why was propaganda so important to Nazi leadership?
11.How do you think Nazi propaganda influenced the attitudes and actions of Germans in the 1930s?
12.Would people have rejected Nazi propaganda if they did not already share, to some extent, the beliefs it
communicated?
13.Can you think of examples of propaganda in society today?
14.How do you think this propaganda influences the attitudes and actions of people today?
15.Is there a difference between the impact of propaganda in a democracy that has a free press and an open
marketplace of ideas and the impact of propaganda in a dictatorship with fewer non-governmental
sources of information?
Poster guideline 0.5 marks per guideline

1.Content Relevance:
1. Is the content of the poster relevant to the topic or subject matter being presented?
2. Are the key points and objectives clearly communicated?
3. Does the poster effectively convey the main message or findings of the project?
2.Clarity and Organization:
1. Is the poster well-organized and easy to follow?
2. Is it clearly labeled and logically arranged?
3.Visuals and Design:
1. Does the poster have an attractive and visually engaging layout?
2. Are fonts, colors, and graphics chosen carefully to enhance readability and appeal?
4.Creativity and Originality:
1. Does the poster demonstrate creativity and original thinking in its design and presentation?
2. Are innovative approaches or unique perspectives evident in the content or visuals?
3. Does the poster stand out from others in terms of its creative elements?
5. Cohesion:
1. Is there a cohesive visual theme or style that enhances understanding?
2. Do the images and text elements complement each other effectively?
But wait… doesn’t that add up to
only 20 marks?
Marks breakdown
•30 total
•10 marks for progress checking on 25/26
April (end of this month)
•20 marks for actual project
•5 marks for posters (2.5 for each poster)
•15 marks for essays (7.5 for each guideline
adhered to)
• Print the posters you have created and bring
along your essays (regardless of the progress) on
25/26 April to qualify for the 10 marks.
• Submission date is 3 May 2024.
• Late submissions WILL NOT be entertained.
• Any attempts to plagiarise your friends’ work will
be met with strict measures.
Recommended working timeline
Week 1: Poster creation in accordance to guidelines

Week 2 (Raya): Send poster to writer, writer begins work

Week 3 (Checkpoint): Writer works on essay and makes sure they are able to
adhere to all guidelines. If adhering to all guidelines is not possible, work with
artist to edit poster

Week 4 (Progress checking): Poster to be printed, hand written essay


(complete/incomplete, doesn’t matter) to be shown to Mr Dennis, can work on
the project during class hours after showing Mr Dennis

Week 5: Submission of both posters and essays
