VISITING MUARO JAMBI TEMPLE

Orientation
I am Adi, a 6th grader at SD Negeri 214 Bukit Jaya, Muaro Jambi Regency. Last
semester holiday, my family and I visited the Muara Jambi temple in Jambi. We
departed after Fajr prayer and breakfast. We brought our swimming gear as we were
planning to stop by the new city swimming pool in the afternoon. I wore light brown
jeans and a light beige collared t-shirt and a brown cap in the same color as the pants.

Events
We passed a very long bridge, the name is bridge Aurduri-2. This bridge crosses the
Batanghari river, the longest river on the island of Sumatera. In about 50 minutes we
arrived at the gate of the Muaro Jambi temple. There was a welcome greeting as if
greeting us. On the left and right of the road there are many vendors selling
accessories such as large hats, jackets, t-shirts, to toys such as key chains, balloons,
and others. After paying the entrance ticket, we immediately visited the Muara Jambi
Temple museum which is located on the right before heading to Candi Tinggi. There
are a lot of relics from the 6th-7th centuries such as the findings of giant cooking
utensils, pieces of statues, gold-mixed soil, dioramas, and others. We also visited
some of the main temples and menapo. The main temples are the tall temple, the
Gumpung temple, the Kedaton temple, the twin temples of Batu I and II. Menapo is a
mound of temple ruins that have not been restored in the form of a large pile of bricks.
The number of menapo is approximately 80 pieces.

Re – Orentation
We came home after noon and went straight to Jambi city. We swam in the new city
Pool until 5pm. After stopping at the Jambi mayor's roundabout and enjoying the
evening culinary delights, we returned home and arrived home shortly after the Azan
Maghrib (call to prayer).
