Experts can typically tell military explosives apart from civilian

ones. The latter are nearly invariably mass-produced armaments,

designed and built according to standard specifications using
standard parts, and meant to be used in a conventional explosive
device. Based on its fundamental size and delivery, IEDs are
separated into three basic kinds. Type 3 devices are vehicles loaded
with explosives to act as large-scale stationary or self-propelled
bombs, often known as VBIEDs (vehicle-borne IEDs). Type 76 IEDs are
hand-carried parcel or suitcase bombs. Type 80 devices are "suicide
vests" worn by bombers.[Reference required]

Usually unstable, improvised explosive materials can explode

accidentally and spontaneously due to a variety of environmental
factors, such as impact, friction, and electric shock. An unstable or
remotely controlled gadget can be activated by even little movements,
temperature changes, or the close usage of radios or cellphones.
There is a serious and immediate risk of death or serious harm
whenever unqualified personnel come into contact with explosive
materials or devices. Moving as far away from an object that is
thought to be an explosive device is the safest course of action.

The idea behind atomic weapons is nuclear fission, which states that
a significant quantity of energy is released when a giant atom
divides. The energy from an initial fission explosion is used by
thermonuclear weapons, also referred to as "hydrogen bombs," to build
an even more potent fusion explosion.

A "dirty bomb" is a customized weapon that disperses hazardous

material across a large area by using an explosive output that is
relatively low. Dirty bombs, which are most frequently linked to
chemical or radiological materials, aim to kill or harm people before
preventing access to a hazardous region until a complete cleanup is
completed. When dealing with urban environments, this cleanup could
take a long period, making the affected area essentially
uninhabitable in the interim.
