The next is Mid-Autumn festival.

It is a important traditional holiday in Vietnam


too. The Mid-Autumn Festival takes place in the middle of the August of the
lunar calendar. Children in Vietnam always dream about an amazing Mid-
Autumn festival with a bright lantern and mooncakes. It is organized in some
other parts of Asia, includes China, Japan and South Korea. But the Vietnam
version is a little bit different. This festival began from a story about a man
called Cuoi who lives on the Moon. People said, if you look at the moon for a
long time, you can see a figure of human sitting under banyan root. Children are
bought mooncakes by adults, they are big fans of this cakes. There are many
flavors of mooncake such as chickpeas, cruxifixion, salted egg,...When the
moon shines at night, the streets are always crowded with people buying festive
items and walking around. Parents often buy star-shaped lanterns for their
children. There are also special events such as lantern parades : Children will
walk follow the host about 10-15 minutes. Beside that, people can watch lion
dances, the thing which is not forgotten on this day. Mid-Autumn Festival is a
meaningful day for chidren, it is also a chance for them to remember their
childhood.
