A weekend with the Dobsons

Mark and Daniela’s kids love the weekends. They don’t have to go to school and they get
to play with their friends and watch a bit of TV. They are not allowed to watch TV during
the week because they have to do their homework and get to bed on time. But on
weekends, they get to watch some of their favorite TV shows which were recorded during
the week and they get to sleep late.
Mark and Daniela also look forward to the weekends. There is so much they don’t get to
do during the week! The work week is usually so stressful that by the time it’s Friday
evening, they just want to relax and forget about work.
On Friday evenings, the Dobson family usually goes to the movies. Picking out a movie is
fun but they always have to pick movies that are rated PG-13. Mark and Daniela don’t
think that movies that are rated R are suitable for the children. After the movie they
always have dinner at a restaurant.
On Saturdays, the family has breakfast together. After that, the kids usually go out with
their friends or stay home and watch TV. In the afternoon they go grocery shopping. They
make sure to buy plenty of fruits and vegetables. In the evening they rent a DVD and
have dinner together.
Sundays are usually spent together. Everyone wakes up late. They have eggs, bacon and
toast for breakfast. Mark reads the newpaper at the table while the others chat. During
the day they go to the beach or the mall. They sometimes visit friends and relatives.
In the evening, they start preparing for the following week. The kids finish up their
homework while Daniela cooks something for the week. The kids spend their time playing
cards or watching TV until bedtime. Mark and Daniela put the food away and wash the
dishes before bed.
They try to get to bed by 10:30 so that they don’t have too much trouble getting up on
Monday morning.
