BASIS International School Bangkok is delighted to invite your school to participate in the 1st
BASIS TUSKERS Swim Meet 2024.

The “1st BASIS TUSKERS Swim Meet” will be an annual initiative of our school aimed at
promoting sportsmanship, fostering teamwork, and encouraging children to embrace the
spirit of Aquatics. We believe that your school shares our values and will actively participate
in the event.

The Swim meet will be held on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at BASIS
International School Bangkok. The Swim meet will not only provide a platform to showcase
their swimming skills but also an opportunity to make new friends in Aquatics.

BASIS Swimming Pool & Guest Information

Warm-Up:

• Open warm-up begins at 7:00 AM.

• Lanes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please use common courtesy
and share lanes with other teams as needed.

Pool Facilities:

• Covered 25-meter pool with 8 lanes.

• Electronic timing system for competition use.
• Poolside spectator area.

Pool Specs:

• Length: 25 meters
• Lanes: 8
• Depth: 1.35 - 2.0 meters (shallow to deep end)

Safety:

• Lifeguards will be on duty during all pool hours.

Spectators:

• Parents and spectators are welcome!

• All spectators must sign in at the Registration Area and exchange Visitors Card lanyard
and must be wearing it all the time on the school premises.

Food:

• Food vendors will be available for sale on campus for your convenience.

BASIS Swim Meet Information & Scoring

Competition Format:

• Timed Finals: All events will be scored based on the fastest recorded times.
• Age Groups: Swimmers will compete in their appropriate age group (6-8, 9-11, 12-14,
15 & over).
• Age Up Option: Swimmers can compete in an older age group if desired.
• Events per Swimmer: Each swimmer can participate in 1 relay and 3 individual events
(4 races total).
• One Start Rule: Swimmers can choose a poolside or block start.
• Heat Seeding: Heats will be organized from slowest swimmers to fastest.

Scoring:

• Individual Events: Points will be awarded to the top 8 finishers in each event (8 points
for 1st, 7 points for 2nd, and so on down to 1 point for 8th place).
• Relay Events: Points will be awarded to the top 6 finishing teams (24 points for 1st, 20
points for 2nd, and so on down to 4 points for 6th place).

Awards:

• All Swimmers: Every participant will receive a cap.

• Individual Events: Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) in
each individual event.
• Relay Events: Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishing teams (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)
in each relay event.
• Team Trophies: Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 teams based on total points
earned.

Entry Fees & Payment:

• Entry Fee: The entry fee is 650 baht per swimmer.

• Registration Deadline: Registration closes on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024, by 4:00 PM.
• Invoice: Invoices will be issued between Tuesday, April 30th, and Friday, May 3rd,
2024.

• Payment Deadline: Payment is due by Friday, April 10th, 2024, by 4:00 PM. Payment
confirmation (payslip) must be emailed to n.sinha@basis.ac.th.
• Non-Refundable: Entry fees are non-refundable.
• Spectator Attendance: Parents are welcome to watch the swim meet.

Spectator Seating:

• Designated Zones: Specific areas around the pool are designated for parent seating.
• Standing Areas: Due to space limitations, parents/families may stand in certain areas
of the pool deck to observe their children.
• Restricted Areas: Parents/Families are not allowed to enter the Swimmer's Area and
should remain within the designated seating and rest areas. The canteen area offers
additional seating near food, beverage, and vendor options.

Swimmer Zone:

• Rest Areas: Designated rest areas will be provided in the Player Zone (at the Sport
Field) for each swim team. Coaches and staff from each school must supervise their
team in these areas.

Warm-Up Area:

• Team Warm-Up: Teams will have designated warm-up areas at the Sport Field
supervised by their coaches.
• Pool Warm-Up: The pool will be open for warm-up from 7:00 AM to 7:40 AM.

Spectator Information:

• Support Encouraged: Parents/Families are encouraged to attend and support their

children during the swimming meet.
• Parent Lanyard: Please ensure you have your parent's lanyard for security verification.
• Designated Viewing: Spectators are kindly requested to observe the competition only
from the grandstands by the pool.

• Restroom Locations: Adult restrooms are located next to the canteen. Children's
restrooms are next to the basketball court and on the ground floor between the pool
and field.

Transport & Parking:

Parents/Families can utilize the school basement parking lots, which offer 180 spaces. In case
on-site parking reaches full capacity, additional parking is available at our nearby satellite
parking space, as indicated on the map provided, with 100 spaces available.
