Creating Services
• Service Configuration provides two types of services:
– Application Service and Network Service

• Service type selection streamlines configuration of services


• Application Service – Applications & Monitored Elements (and groups)
• Network Service – Monitored Elements (and groups)
– Service type also narrows the number and type of metrics available as triggers
for service alert profiles

Application Services
Includes one or more service members
Message ID Example

• Monitored Elements
– InfiniStream interface(s)

– User defined virtual interfaces
such as Sites or APN’s

Network Services
• Service Configuration
– Administrators configure network services by combining one or more
physical interfaces (Monitored Elements)
– Optional location keys
– Does not contain Applications or Application groups

• Click plus sign to add alert profile
• Three types – baseline, threshold, availability
– Multiple metrics

• Network services provide visibility into a subset of interfaces when
using applications
– Network Dashboard
– Traffic Monitor
– Reporting

Assigning Services and Domains
• Service Hierarchy is available to group, EVERYONE, by default
– All users can access the Enterprise hierarchy and any child services or
domains
• Access assignment can be by Users or User Groups
