TRIZ
Contradiction:
The bottle opener is a simple construction that most of the time does not
need and instruction to use. However this simplicity requres to make
each operation manually. The problem is to make the bottle opener a
simple construction and still add some automations to its functionality

Step 1:
If we improve the complexity (in this case make it simpler), the
automation decreases
Step 2:
In TRIZ parameter A (complexity) = 36 and B (extent of automation) = 38

Step 3:
Corresponding inventive principles:
1 - Segmentation
15 - Dynamicity, Optimization
24 - Mediator, intermediary
TRIZ
Possible solutions to principles:
1. Segmentation: One way to add automation to a bottle opener is to break
down the task into smaller parts. For example, instead of having one device
that both opens the bottle and removes the cap, we could create two
separate devices that work together. Although we can`t automate the
removing the cap,we can aoutomatically collect caps. This would make task
simpler.
2. Dynamicity, Optimization: Another way to add automation to a bottle
opener is to make it more dynamic and optimize its functionality. For
example, we could create a bottle opener that uses a sensor to detect the
presence of a bottle, and then automatically opens the bottle and removes
the cap. This would eliminate the need for manual input and make the
process more efficient.
3. Mediator, intermediary: A third approach is to use a mediator or
intermediary device to add automation to the bottle opener. For example,
we could create a device that attaches to the bottle cap and automatically
opens the bottle when the cap is removed. This would eliminate the need for
a separate bottle opener and make the process more streamlined.

Ergonomics

Size and shape:

As it is shown here the
height is about 17 sm
and diameter of the
hole is around 3,5 sm,
which is appropriate to
A B ergonomic
requirements.

Ease of use:
In contrast to the ordinary bottle opener this concepts
doest require twisting thewrist instead you have tu push
the bottom to open the bottle cap.
Ergonomics

Grip:
The surface is made of textured
plastic which guarantees that
the tool will not slip easily

Handle size:
From A it is visible that the Lever arm angle:
radius is 44 mm that meets From B. The angle of the
the ergonomic requirements handle and opening hole is 120
degrees. It does not perfectly
meet requirements but also is
better that a straight angle

The required minimum force may
vary from 40N to 50N which is less
than maximum standart

Equitable Use: itis possible to use

the bottle opener with one hand,
and by people with limited hand
strength or dexterity.

In pic. A in it visible that the radius

lets people to use it with one hand

Flexibility in Use: It is designed to work with different types of bottle

caps. The metal cap remover lets the bottle opener work with most
of the caps

Size and Space for Approach and Use: The bottle opener is designed
to be compact and portable for easy transport and storage
Universal design

Simple and Intuitive Use: The bottle opener is easy to

understand and use, regardless of the user's experience,
knowledge, or language skills. It has a transparent
plastic back so user knows when to use it and when to
open it to throw caps

Perceptible Information: Its transparent back gives a

tactile feedback to indicate when a cap has been
C successfully removed. In the other words it is visible is
the cap is inside or not

Tolerance for Error: The bottle opener is designed to prevent the user from
accidentally opening the bottle in a way that could cause injury. IT doesn't
let user to use the wrist and you can only open bottle cap by pushing which
minimixas the injuries.

Low Physical Effort: The bottle opener requires minimum force from 40N
to 50N which is less than maximum standart. It also has a soft grip to make
it easier to hold and use.

Challenges and weak parts
of the proposed concept
Compatibility issues: The bottle opener may not be
compatible with all bottle types or sizes. This could
limit its usefulness and require users to have multiple
bottle openers for different types of bottles.

User skill: Using a 3D printed bottle opener may

require more skill or finesse than using a traditional
metal bottle opener. This could make it more
difficult for some users to open bottles, or lead to
spilled drinks if the cap is not removed properly

Environmental impact: 3D printing requires the use

of plastic or other materials, which can have a
negative impact on the environment. Additionally,
if the bottle opener is not properly disposed of or
recycled, it could contribute to waste and pollution.
Challenges and weak parts
of the proposed concept
Gathering raw data : not surprisingly one of the
most challenging part of the project was gathering
raw data from target audience as it was very
exhausting process

Identifying product specifications : the most

challenging part was to find a well defined list of
metrics for a product
