Dream Achiever

In this day February 19, 2024, at 8:00 o-clock in the morning. Students from different schools
accumulate at Surigao Del Norte State University, Gymnasium. The gym is bustling with students who are
keen to participate in DSPC (Division School Press Conference) to develop their skills and express their
passion in writing to achieve their dreams. In the program there is an introduction of Speakers and
Supervisors where students get to know who will supervise and guide them. The students have different
categories in writing, News writing, Feature, Editorial, Sports, Layout Artist, Cartooning and
Photojournalist. At 10:00, students are dispatched in different location for the lecture and so that the
contest will start. After the lecture, they’ll listen and question a speaker, they have one hour to collect
data. After collecting data, they have 4 hours to finalize and print their final product.

‘A Million Dreams’

In the press conference program, there’s an intermission song lead by Ashly, she sang the song “A million
dreams and the audience are amazed by the glamming performance she performed. This song really
touched the audience hearts. Even waving their phones with their flashlights on to express how the song
really made an emotional impact on them.

Venus Alburoto (The superwoman Achiever)

Doc. Venus Alburoto is an innovative science teacher from Surigao city National High school. She finished
Bachelor in secondary education, Majot in general science at St. Paul University Surigao as Magna cum
Laude. She recently had a partnership DSTEI to open a project named ‘Simatar’ which is a mobile app to
help the students with their skills and to improve their mind set. The app was successful. She won a
number of awards for her work, including finalist, metrobank, and foundation outstanding Filipinos (SOT)
in 2017 and 2018 and finalist Ki Hajar Dewantara award for best science teacher in Southeast Asia. Her
passion is to help students and teachers who are struggling.
