AN EATERY TO BE ENJOYED
Over the last few moths, we’ve been hering a lot about Hilda’s, the trendy new restaurant that’s
opened on Blackports High Street. (1) _________ When I called the restaurant to check on the
openingtimes, I was surprised to learnthat all the tables had already been booked for the next ten days!
Hilda’s was certainlyvery popular, it seemed. I wanted to find out if this was a place my stomach and I
would enjoy, so I booked a table and waited impatiently for the day to arrive when I could finally go.
After parking my car in the spacious car park at the back of the restaurant, I entered the building
through the front door. From the outside, it is difficult to know what kind of restaurant expectas it has a
very simple exterior. A dark brown building with small white windows and a small sign saying Hilda’s is
all you will notice. (2) _______ The brown wooden tables and chairs are simple and the tables have white
cloths, a vase of flowers and white plates. The room has low lighting and a few classical paintings on the
wall. The face is, there is nothing about the restaurant to make you say, “wow” but it’s all very clean and
comfortable.

programme. They seemed to know what you want before you do, and glasses are filled almost like magic.
They are extremely polite and friendly too, and all of my meal was served quickly. As for Hilda, she is a

Italy, and I could hardly stop laughing at her amusing stories. Now we come to the “meat” of the matter.

nice and stiky and not too salty, just as it should be. My main course was lightly fried spicy vegetables in
a tomato sauce and it was wonderful. And I even had a desert-only so I could inform you about it, you
understand! It was a low-fat apple pie, and you won’t be surprised to hear that it was delicious.
Finally, we all like to know how much we’re g0oing to pay. (5) ________ Two people eating a
starter, main course and desert with a bottle of good wine can expect to pay about £70. Not bad for such a
lovely experience. It’s no wonderful thatHilda’s is such a great success. I recommend that you try it for

This symptoms of hay fever include watery and itchy eyes and a runny, congested nose.
People suffering from hay fever may experience occasional wheezing and repeated bouts of
sneezing and may even lose their sense of smell. Some victims of hay fever may also have stopped-
up ears. About 30 percent of those who suffer from hay fever may develop the symptoms
associated with periodic asthma or a sinus infection. The allergen-antibody theory does not fully
explain allergic reactions because the membranes and glands in eyes and ears are controlled by the

system itself is part of the emotional- response center and may cause the feelings of anger, fear,

summer and autumn. When airborne pollen particles, as well mold, come into contact with the
victim’s membranes, they can cause allergic reactions that release histamine and result in virtual
blockage of air passages. To prevent hay fever or to decrease the severity of its symptoms, contact
with the ragweed pollen should be reduced. Although some communities have attempted to
eliminate the plants that cause the reactions, elimination programs have not been successful
because airborne pollen can travel considerable distances. Antihistamine can help with short but
severe attacks. Over extended periods of time, however, patients are prescribed a series of
injections of the substance to which they are sensitive in order to increase immunity and thus be relieved
of the seasonal allergy.

The search for alternative sources of energy has led in various directions. Many communities are
burning garbage and other biological waste products to produce electricity. Converting waste products to
