Youth Olympic Games


The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an international multi-sport event organized by
the International Olympic Committee. The first summer version was in Singapore from 14 to 26
August 2010. There are 32 sports (Basketball, football, archery, athletics, etc.), 241 events
(opening event, countries parade, etc.), 206 countries and 3,998 athletes from 15 to 18 years old.
The YOG 2022 is the biggest and most famous event of this year in Italy. A lot of hotels,
restaurants and attractions are ready to welcome the delegations from all over the world! Also,
these Games are going to have cultural exchange programmes and opportunities for participants
to meet Olympic athletes. This year, the experience is going to be enormous: 50,000 volunteers
are going to help and guide the athlete and the public. The Italian government is going to create
four parks in different parts of Italy to combine cultural, educational and sports activities.
The Games start on October 6th and finish on October18th. The final ceremony is going to be a
beautiful event: a show of lights, music and fireworks. You’re all welcome to enjoy and be part of it!
