Introduce friends
and family
Learn about the countries of the UK, practise saying
's', and describe your family and friends.
Introducing family
I ____ a big family. She ____ four uncles. He ____ two cousins.
Describing people
My aunt has ____ eyes. His niece has ____ hair. My nephew has ____ eyes.
The verb to have can be a main verb that is used to talk about possessions, family/friends,
physical appearance and illness:
I have a house.
She doesn’t have a brother.
Do you have brown eyes?
He has a headache.
With third person singular subjects, the main verb is conjugated to has and the
auxiliary verb is conjugated to does(n’t). We use have and do with all of the other subjects.

Possessive ‘s
To talk about relationships between people and things we can use possessive ‘s.
It is attached to a possessor noun that is positioned before the possessed noun.
We use the question word whose to ask about possessions:
The possessive ‘s looks and sounds the same as the s in contractions of is:
brother
cousin
wife &
daughter
possessive contraction
