Format/Guidelines:
1. Manifests
a. If a demon manifests (makes itself known) Be encouraged, The POWER OF
GOD IS PRESENT.
2. Get the person out of the center of attention.
a. Demons like to take attention away from the Lord and distract others.
b. We care about the person right away.
c. Take the person to the designated prayer room.
d. No 1 on 1 deliverances, ever lol. Especially with youth. Find a leader to go with
you.
3. Stop the manifestation. You have the power and authority from Jesus himself.
a. This is not about qualifications. Jesus qualifies you.
4. Address the person, not the demon.
a. Get their name and have them be the center of attention. Not the demon.
5. Ask them what they are feeling.
a. Identify what they are feeling good or bad.
6. Be encouraged, God is setting them free

Tips on the actual Deliverance.

a. As you begin to pray, bind all demonic forces and command the demonic spirit to
be silent, not to interfere, or manifest. Bless the person with the blood of Jesus.
b. It can be helpful to proclaim the whole gospel out loud and glorify God before you
begin ministry time. Proclaim Jesus’ sinless life, being wholly divine and human,
that He was crucified to take the penalty of sin and to destroy death, that He
defeated the power of death and rose on the third day. Because of Him we have
also died and been raised again in His power. That He ascended into heaven and
poured out the Holy Spirit and that He now dwells in you. Praise Him for all He’s
done and for who He is, that we are now justified and filled with His
righteousness.
c. You don’t have to shout. The power is from Jesus/His Holy Spirit in you, not the
volume of your voice. Be calm and loving.
d. If a person is manifesting and it’s making them physically unstable, be sure to
have someone near to catch them or perhaps lay them down until you can
command that manifestation to stop.
e. Some deliverance ministers advise against touching a person very much, laying
on of hands, during a deliverance. Be led by the Holy Spirit in this.
f. If you have a group of people ministering in a deliverance, it’s best to have one
person be the leader. Others should intercede and pray silently. If someone has
something they feel led to share or contribute, they should interact with the leader
and keep things orderly, letting the leader give them the go-ahead to share or
pray.
g. Eye contact is very important. When someone is being actively oppressed, they
will avoid eye contact with the person ministering. Keep asking the person to look
into your eyes when you feel they’re being distracted or tormented. This will help
them get a hold of themselves.
h. Demonic tactics are often to bring confusion and distraction. Tell the fog of
confusion to leave.

Sometimes the demon(s) are annoying

i. If it seems like the person can’t speak or is having trouble, command the enemy
to stop and let them speak.
j. Demons try to humiliate people. If someone is physically manifesting, you can tell
the manifestation to stop so that you can more easily minister to the person. Take
the person to another location so they don’t have to feel self-conscious.
k. People are often unaware of some of the things the demon might be doing
physically, like making faces or twitching.
l. You are not on a demon’s schedule/time table. If a manifestation has happened
but you don’t feel like that is the moment to minister, it’s okay to schedule another
time to pray together.
m. Emotional or Spiritual Healing often go hand in hand with Deliverance and in
many instances are necessary before a demon will leave. If you’re having a
difficult or prolonged deliverance session, it is probably because there is some
kind of wound that needs healing from Jesus to close the door on the demon’s
access. If it’s not the right time to go into that kind of healing or you feel like you’d
like some assistance, it’s okay to shut down the manifestation, pray for peace,
and then make an appointment at another time to pray.
n. Demons try to hide. When people are in a place where God’s manifest presence
is there, they will often be exposed. People might feel shame when they manifest
a demon, but I’m always encouraged because it means that something that was
hidden in darkness is now exposed to the light. Encourage them that freedom is
coming. As a minister, don’t be afraid, because God is putting pressure on the
demon and it must go.
o. Sometimes when a demon leaves someone there is a physical experience. This
can look like shivers, shudders, coughing, vomiting. Just encourage the person
that it’s okay. If they’re coughing or vomiting, just tell them to get it all out. Have a
trash can handy.
p. Check in regularly with the person you’re praying for. Ask them what they’re
feeling both emotionally and physically. After you’ve told a demon to go, ask them
if they sense any change or feel different.
q. Sometimes they may experience different sensations, even pain, moving from
place to place on their body. This might be a spirit of infirmity. Tell it to leave,
command the symptoms to be healed.
r. Be aware of what is happening within you as you minister in a deliverance
situation. You might get sympathy pains, even sympathetic emotional pain. If you
suddenly feel afraid, or sad, or anxious, come against that spirit in the
atmosphere and also tell it to leave the person you’re praying for. If you suddenly
feel very distracted or weary, again, take command of that feeling and tell it to
leave.
s. The person you’re ministering to may say something unkind or mocking to you.
Don’t let it get to you. The demon is afraid and knows it’s in jeopardy and is trying
anything it can to intimidate you. I usually just smile and tell it to be quiet and
then encourage the person.
