2.2 Safety
Some lubricants are harmful to skin. Make sure to wear PPE at all times when dealing with
lubricants.
The magnets in this tool produce a magnetic field which extends for a considerable distance.
When the tool is dismantled, the magnets should be kept at least 1 foot from any watches, analogue
meters or cathode ray tubes to avoid any ill effects from the field.
The magnets are relatively fragile and can be cracked by small mechanical shocks. Care must be
taken not to drop them. They must be carefully wiped free of any swarf before re-assembly. This is
easily accomplished with a steel brush.
Place the tool horizontally on the tool stands for safe storage purpose.
When there is more than one logging tools stored together, place them on the tool stands to the same
direction either side by side or in a line.
Do not store the tool with any Gamma-ray tool together. Keep this tool at least one foot from any
Gamma-ray tool. Magnetic field may magnetise pressure housing and seriously reduce tool sensitivity.
2.3 Introduction
PTC43C-A tool is applied in depth correction logging and leakage detection logging. Pressure section
adopts strain press gauge as its sensor, which responds to different pressure by different resistance value,
hence generate different output current. By measuring the current, the tool calculates the pressure value.
Temperature section would read and calculate the temperature index value produced by the Platinum
resistance thermometer, which gives indications to the temperature value. CCL section would process the
induced current when the magnetic field is disturbed by the movement of the tool.
➢ Survey borehole flowing pressure and its fluctuation along the production formation.
➢ Lineate formation by temperature curve, check cement channeling, and evaluate the acidizing and
fracturing of cementing.
➢ Depth Correction.
This tool is made up by three sections: CCL sensor section, pressure/temperature sensor section, and
electronic section. Refer to the following figure for details.

3 Calibration
The calibration operation required by PTC43C-A is listed below:
Note that GOWell is going to provide pressure master calibration file, calibration report along with the
product.
Normally the pressure calibration remains accurate for one year. After each year, the tool will require
workshop pressure verification with Dead Weight Tester (hereinafter referred as DWT). The verification
result should be within tolerance. Otherwise, the tool needs to redo pressure calibration.
Refer to the following text on how to create new S/N record of PTC43C-A tool and how to load master
calibration file in Warrior 8 software.
1. Copy relevant Pressure Master Calibration file (*.hpp file) into Warrior Config folder.

4 Operation
4.1 Well Site Operation
4.1.1 Preparation
1) Check pressure housing to ensure there are no cracks, damage, or flaws; check 13-pin
connections are clean and dry, and all parts are connected tightly.
2) Check the sealing surface and O-rings on upper/lower connection; replace O-rings if necessary.
Lightly grease the O-ring with O-ring grease.
3) Remove transport screw from Port B, check Pressure gauge silicone oil filling status, and inject
silicone oil if needed.
Before logging, the pressure master calibration file must be loaded into Warrior software. Refer to
Section 3 Calibration for details.
For tool string connection, refer to Section 2.5 Tool Combination for details.
1. Power on the tool by +18V DC voltage, the normal work current should be 20±5mA.
4.3 Logging
The following instructions are guidelines only and must be used in conjunction with local policy and
specific well site conditions both downhole and at surface.
WARNING: Winch operator should have well sketch and logging procedures for the specific
well site.
Surface tension ≤ 80% of tension when Surface tension ≤ 120% of tension when
> 120m (400ft) Cased-Hole tool is stationary. tool is stationary.
Speed ≤ 50m/min (150ft/min) Speed ≤ 50m/min (150ft/min)
Surface tension ≤ 70% of tension when Surface tension ≤ 130% of tension when
> 120m (400ft) Open-Hole tool is stationary. tool is stationary.
Speed ≤ 50m/min (150ft/min) Speed ≤ 50m/min (150ft/min)
1. Clean the tool surface and inspect for any visible damage.
2. Check all connection O-rings. Replace if necessary. Replacement of O-rings will depend on field
experience and well conditions. It is suggested that external O-rings should be replaced every 2-3
jobs.
3. Fit thread protectors as soon as possible after disassembling the tool string to prevent damage to
the O-rings and sealing surfaces.
1) Place the tool vertically, and upper connection upwards as Figure 4-1.
Remove the plug 2 (item 22, Figure 4-1) from port B and the plug 1 (item 21, Figure 4-1) from
port A.
2) Pump the oil out of the tool with the help of a hand pump adding pressure to port A. Ensure the
oil inside the tool is fully purged.
NOTE:
➢ It is recommended to use a hand pump of common purpose. Please refer to the following
figure for your reference.
