1.2 Document Conventions

Overview

2 Overview
2.1 Design Intent
When the front tray or water jetter on the TMT Tooling Skid is actuated, back-pressure is
generated in the hydraulic system. This back pressure acts on the check valve’s pilot piston
in the Hot Stab Manifold and triggers them to open, causing the hot stabs to leak fluid.
The new Check Valve Manifold installation prevents this by only allowing glycol at a greater
pressure than 25psi to flow out of the hot stabs.
As the glycol tank pressure is always less than 10psi, flow through the hot stabs will only
occur when the pump is active.

2.2 Modification
The Installation of the new Check Valve Manifold requires some modifications to the
Tooling Skid. The Check Valve Manifold is connected between the Hot Stab Manifold and
the hot stabs.
A custom mount has been designed to mount the new Check Valve Manifold on top of the
Dynaset High Pressure Jetting Pump. Some additional hoses have also been supplied to
connect the Check Valve Manifold to the Hot Stab Manifold, while the original Hotstab
hoses can be reconnected to the Check Valve Manifold.

Note: Before commencing, fully read, understand all steps and have all parts and tools
available.

3.1 Risks and Mitigations


The following are risks and mitigations, to be used in Job Safety Analysis (JSA).

Verify that all hydraulic systems are properly maintained before applying
pressure. Verify that all pressure is removed from the entire system before
performing any maintenance.

Throughout the following Installation Procedure, documents such as Hose Registers,
Hydraulic Schematics and Assembly Drawings may need to be consulted. These
documents are included in the Appendix.
