Introduction
We want to improve our services by integrating edge computing in my position as an IT solution
consultant for a phone business. At the moment, we provide internet services, cloud computing, and mobile
services (including 5G) to both retail and commercial customers. By incorporating edge computing into our
processes, the firm sees a significant chance to develop cutting-edge services (Stadnicka et al., 2022). Large
volumes of data are captured, processed, and analysed close to the source as part of edge computing, which
increases productivity and speed. By decreasing dependency on cloud services and lowering transfer latency,
this strategy allows real-time data processing. We can reduce network storage needs and maximize internet
bandwidth utilization using edge computing. The emphasis is on using edge computing to link businesses,
individuals, and the Internet of Things (IoT). The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a network of
interconnected objects, which can be anything from commonplace things like vehicles and household
appliances to sophisticated gadgets like heart implants and biochip transponders in farm animals. By using
sensors for temperature, motion, moisture, and air quality, these networked "things" automatically collect
environmental data and enable more intelligent decision-making (Pérez et al., 2022). Since IoT data is
currently handled on the cloud, network capacity and communication latency are issues. Edge computing
solutions, which move computation closer to the sources of data generation and consumption, are becoming
increasingly important as the usage of drones and autonomous cars increases.

Problem Statement
In my capacity as an IT solution consultant for a phone company, we are investigating how
implementing edge computing can enhance our offerings. Cloud computing, mobile services (including 5G),
and internet services for retail and commercial clients are among the things we now provide. By incorporating
edge computing, which processes and analyses massive volumes of data near to its point of generation, the
firm sees an exciting chance to create new services. This method lessens dependency on cloud services while
improving speed, efficiency, and real-time data processing. We want to interconnect people, things, and
enterprises by using edge computing to connect the Internet of Things (IoT). Sensors are used to connect
commonplace objects, such as vehicles and household appliances, to the internet. These sensors—which
include motion and temperature sensors—collect data automatically, facilitating more intelligent decision-
making. Since IoT data is being handled on the cloud, there are issues including delayed communication and
limited network capacity. The need for edge computing solutions—which move processing closer to the sites
of data production and consumption—is expanding as the usage of drones and autonomous cars increases. It is
my responsibility to investigate how edge computing might be used to improve our offerings and meet the
changing needs of our clientele.

Analysis of the Solution

The deployment of a strong and effective edge computing framework designed for IoT data processing
is one viable and particular way to handle the issues and take advantage of the opportunities given in the
context of the telephone company's services. Decentralizing data processing by locating computing closer to
the point of data creation is the main goal of this approach. This will minimize latency, maximize network
capacity, and improve the ability to make decisions in real time. In order to fully utilize edge computing, the
goal is to establish a smooth link between individuals, companies, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
Firstly, there is a substantial way to reduce the strain on centralized cloud resources by strategically placing
edge computing nodes around the network (Silitonga et al., 2024). With their processing power, these edge
nodes can analyse data locally, removing the need to transfer all IoT-generated data to remote cloud servers.
This decentralization improves overall data processing efficiency by reducing communication delay.
Additionally, the firm can provide low-latency and high-throughput services by investing in edge computing
infrastructure, which is especially important for applications like autonomous cars and drones. For example,
edge computing brings computer capacity closer to the cars, providing faster reactions and increased safety.
Real-time decision-making in autonomous vehicles primarily depends on low-latency data processing.
Furthermore, edge computing makes it possible to tailor data processing to the unique needs of various
Internet of Things applications (Newman et al., 2018). The organization may maximize resource consumption
and improve the overall efficiency of the IoT ecosystem by implementing customized algorithms and
processing routines at the edge that are suited to the requirements of temperature sensors, motion sensors, and
other IoT devices. This solution also takes care of the developing issues with data security and privacy. By
handling sensitive IoT data locally at the edge, less data needs to be transmitted over the internet, lowering the
possibility of data breaches occurring while the data is in transit. This is especially important because a lot of
IoT devices handle private and sensitive data.

The business should also make an investment in scalable and interoperable edge computing
frameworks as part of this solution so that they can be easily integrated with the current infrastructure. This
guarantees a seamless shift to an environment allowed by edges without interfering with ongoing services.
Future improvements are made possible by compatibility with open-source frameworks and industry
standards, which promotes innovation. In this case, edge computing deployment not only solves current issues
but also puts the business in a position to investigate new income opportunities (Pan & McElhannon, 2017).
The firm can meet the dynamic demands of real-time data processing-intensive industries including
manufacturing, smart cities, and healthcare by providing edge computing services customized for IoT
applications. In conclusion, the telephone company will find a complete and practical answer in the
implementation of a strong edge computing architecture created especially for IoT data processing. In addition
to addressing the present issues with network capacity, latency in communications, and data security, this
strategy puts the business in a position to take advantage of new possibilities as the connected device and
service environment continues to change.
