Dinamics test essay. 2°ESO. March 6th.

1. Explain the difference between the mass and weight of a body.

Mass is the amount of matter contained in an object, while

weight is the force of gravity acting on that object. The mass
is represented by a number and the weight is represented by
an arrow.

2. A spring has the elastic constant k = 10 N/m

a) Calculate how much it stretches if you stretch it with a force of 5 N.

Let's clear the unknown

in the equation

b) What force must be exerted on it to strech it 2 cm?

3. We hang a spring from a support and hang weights of 20 g each. The spring is lengthened and
we measure the elongation produced by each weight. We collect the data in the following table:

20
· 40 60 80

Plot these data on a force-time graph and find the slope to calculate the spring constant.
4. Calculate the total force exerted in the following cases:

10

·10 es

& D8

5. A person must apply a force of 245 N to lift a body with a 3 m lever. The fulcrum is 1 m from it.
What is the mass of the body?
