LATE BRUCKNER AND EARLY MAHLER

Looking to next Autumn, Matthew proposes a series previously planned

but postponed due to the Covid outbreak. It is a big subject with ten
lectures. As there will be other events at Blackheath Halls in September
the first two lectures are being earmarked for Charlton House in
September and the remaining eight at Blackheath Halls from October.

Mahler and Bruckner get paired together like Marks and Spencer but they
are of different generations, Bruckner born in 1824 (200 years ago) and
Mahler in 1860. Hence Matthew’s shrewd idea to combine late Bruckner
with early Mahler when for the most part they may overlap.
