The Process of Observing The Package Transmission and The Route of Tracing A Remote Host
• Key words: package transmission protocol, DNS server
• Description: Using command “ping” to ping different IP address and DNS servers to observe different the
transmission delays of packages. Using “traceroute” to get the routes of tracing different remote hosts. A
software “Wireshark” is used to complete packet capture when opening a website in browser and using
“nslookup”. Some useful information about DNS server, such as IP address, transmission protocol, DNS
query and response messages etc., is observed by using Wireshark.
The development of pinging program and HTTP Web Server
• Key words: Python, Server Socket Programming
• Description: Using python to develop the programs to achieve sending and receiving datagram packets using UDP
sockets in both server side and client side. Using socket programming for TCP connections in Python to develop
a web server that accept and parse HTTP requests.
The development of SMTP protocol and mail client server
• Key words: Python, mail client server
• Description: I have implemented a standard protocol(SMTP protocol) using Python, developed a mail client
server that sends email to any recipient and the client server can connect to a mail server.
